Sorry if this has been brought up recently but has there been any news about the presence of buggers and brutes for halo 5? I don’t know if lore wise they can’t make a appearance but it would be cool to at least have brute character like Tartarus was.
Ugh, the drones were by far one of the worst additions to the Covenant.
Halo 4 was going to include Drones, actually. They even had a new variant, the Drone Sniper, which had a Beam Rifle arm.
I’d like to see them back.
Drones were never fun to fight against.

They weren’t meant to be fun, but rather strategic.
Whenever they spawn alongside other Covenant forces, you were forced to take cover as the number of enemies attacking was too high. Like the Hunter section in the elevator on Halo 3’s The Covenant. You and your Elites are more than capable to take down two Hunters, but when the Drones show up you’re force to set back and try a different approach.
It seems as though the Brutes are being relegated to Halo Wars 2.

As if Halo 2’s Jackal Snipers weren’t bad enough, this is a whole new level of nightmare…
The drones added a nice variety and edge to the covenant foes. Halo 4 got boring just head shotting the same grunts and elites over again. And don’t even get me started on the Prometheans lol.

You could just as easily headshot a drone. Only difference was that drones tended to shy away from combat and would fly high up and behind objects where you had to flush them out to be able to progress to the next area. It was more of an annoyance than anything imo.

Hey thanks for the pictures ! I had no idea they were partially developed for halo 4. They sure look really different.
I wouldn’t mind the return of the Drones and Brutes…variety is the spice of life…or shooting things at least.

I loved using a gernade on 'em. One lucky throw would take out a whole group of them.

This. They were terrible. Brutes were only a storyline in Halo 2, outside of that, they are not helpful.
Bring back drones with more variety in their ranks, and return Halo 3 brutes with Halo 2 brute maniacs!!! (like a jackal/skirmisher deal)
i guess it wont mix with the setting, but it would be cool to see their return.
