I’ve done a lot of bug testing for various titles before, and often they include a standard format on their forum for how they like to receive their bug reports.
Some also include these feature in-game.
So if there are any veteran flighters about who know of a format for bug reports please do drop it here.
Or if anybody more official would like to drop a message it would be good to know not only what kind of bug report the team is looking for, but also WHERE they’ll be looking for it.
If no answers are provided from any official sources I’d like to suggest that we, as a community, develop a standard format ourselves. An example is below.
// All good bug reports tend to have a time, manor place before a full description of what the bug is.
Time: 5pm
Relative Time: 23 seconds after the mission starts
Place: At the back of the sword base courtyard
Manor: 360° turn at mission start and walk over there.
Description: There’s a grunt singing happy birthday. Then the game crashed.

Look forward to seeing you all during the flights. Rumor has it next week?
From what I recall, 343’s been working on getting a website specifically for Halo Insider bug reporting up and running. I’m thinking it should be ready at this point, since flights will be due to start within a week. Whoever gets accepted into the flights will likely also be helping debug their reporting system unless they’ve already done it earlier.
I imagine they’ll have an official method of reporting bugs everyone who gets in will have to use. They’ll probably include that info with the emails they send out, and in the info post that’s supposed to come out in the next few days.

The soon-to-be-released “Halo Support Site” will act as a feedback hub for insiders to report bugs and solutions, as well as eventually acting as a primary support site to replace the support section in these forums. For now it will be used to report and send solutions for bugs, I’m sure these forums will also be useful for that.

Do you think we’ll be able to submit videos/screenshots of the bugs we encounter in the new “Halo Support Site”?

We don’t know anything more than what has been listed on that blog post, but it would make sense to allow screenshots.

Almost certainly. Most bug-reporting forms allow the attachment of images and/or recordings to get a better idea of what exactly happened at the time of the bug, because folks aren’t always especially clear in text. A picture is worth a thousand words, and all that.
Don’t think the Moderators appreciates opening upon old threads, especially if you need to report some bug, its in the link in the invite in your email.
