i have an “large” problem. After i did install the Master Chief Collection for Windows (through the Windows Store) i have three copies installed at once.
No matter what i do, i do have those three copys installed.
WindowsApps folders shows:
Microsoft.Chelan_1.1246.0.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe with around 70GB - Microsoft.Chelan_1.1520.0.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe with around 70GB - MSIXVC with around 61,8 GB (Everything except campaign Halo 1)Multiple Installations at the same time takes up to 200 GB of Diskspace, this can’t be right!
Please help me. What can i do?
Here is an screenshot: (German (.de) Upload Website)
EDIT:
i even did find a fourth copy!
Under WindowsApps\ModifiableWindowsApps
there is the HaloMCC folder with again 67,5 GB of space!!!
what the hell?!
okay i did create an ticket. i will give feedback after i did hear from the support team.
I hope there is a solution. I don’t want to reinstall Windows because of that …
Yes the support team didn’t have a solution for me why i have two version installed.
At least one of three copies is as intended and don’t waste any disk space, even if it is looks like it is (it only uses virtual disk space and is just a shortcut to the content, very unusual to do this, but windows does have this “feature”)
The MSIXVC is not an bug and should be around the same sieze as this folder: Microsoft.Chelan_1.1955.0.0_x64_8wekyb38bbwe
But if you have some additional folder with an lower version number … nobody can help you. Only solution is to reinstall Windows
