So I really liked the way the magnum was in reach,
in reach it was a 5 shot weapon with headshot and 7 when hit in the body.
In halo 4 it is a 6 shot weapon with headshot and 8 when hit in the body.
I really think its to underpowered for a pistol.
So i hope they buff the pistol and make it a 5 shot weapon like the DMR.
Butt they have to increase recoil/bloom.
It’s really perfectly fine as is. It’s still powerful, but not a primary weapon like the other games.
Like I say with the Warthog buff supporters:
You’re doing it wrong.
Keep in mind that, this time around, it’s a secondary weapon. While I absolutely loved it in Halo Reach, I still find it rather effective in Halo 4 if used properly. Sure, it does feel a tad weaker than the Plasma Pistol and Boltshot, but it’s far from being underpowered.
I think it works perfectly fine for its intended role: a secondary weapon. No need to change it in my opinion.

Yeah well might not be underpowered as i said but still its not stron enough, I rather choose the asault rilfe now than the magnum
And btw compair it to the bolt shot…

So pocket shotgun is good? Pocket DMR thingy not?

I dunno, I’ve gotten my fair share of kills with the pistol in Halo 4, you just need to know the best time to use it. I wouldn’t complain if it were a bit stronger, but then it would be on par with the BR, which it shouldn’t be.
just looks like a bad option compared to boltshot. lol
It’s fantastic, a buff would make it OP. The Flagnum alone is OP and it’s just a regular magnum with 120% damage. Well, infinite ammo, but that rarely pans out unless you’re playing big ol dummies.
I thought at first it was a bit underpowered but as you get use to the range it is intended for it seems OK.
I could of sworn I was getting 5sk with it last night. I was shooting EXTREMELY SLOW and hit them 5 times in the head and they were dropping. Could they have been hurt before, sure, but it has been working for me lately.

Thats because the magnum isnt a gun you are supposed to choose for running into battle with. That is the Primary weapons role. The magnum is a sidearm, its supposed to be used for finishing off wounded players or if your primary is low on ammo.

can you say the same about boltshot. I see tons of people switching to bs off spawn and running into corridors of adrift lol
It doesn’t need a buff. It works perfectly as a secondary, and, in my case, as a primary. My favorite weapon is Magnum in Halo 4, and I seem to be fairing pretty well with it. Sure it doesn’t have a shotgun function, but spamming shots up close kills people very quick.
Because of the bloom, the magnum is all about pacing your shots, and if you do, you can win most fights. Hell, I’ve even been in a couple mid-range fights with DMR users and won. Maybe they just weren’t great though.

I am in full agreement with the magnum, it is perfect for finishing off unsheilded opponents, and it’s quick mêlée makes it perfect for those desperate CQB situations, my only complaint with the Hog is not a problem with the Hog itself, but the over active auto-aim that just sprays rounds at random opponents even if you are not aiming at them.
to go back to the topic at hand, leave the magnum alone for it is still useful and balanced in the hands of a Spartan that understands its intended purpose.
