I find the Elite weapons better than the UNSC weapons in a lot of cases. They’re pretty darn strong as is.
The Needler. The Needle Rifle. The Plasma Repeater. Plasma Grenades. Those alone are pretty strong.

Not against vehicles. Shooting a Needle Rifle at a Banshee is like shooting spitballs at it.
> The Needler.
lol default Reach Needler. It takes Classic settings to make it worth using again.

LOL
That’s true. I was thinking against infantry.
And what’s wrong with the Needler? What am I missing cause it seems to pretty dang effective in games…
How is the Plasma Repeater strong? That and the Plasma Launcher were great in the Beta and ended up getting nerfed.
Not that a new balance can’t be found for them, as they are, they’re very team-based effective. More so than the already team-based mechanics.
> How is the Plasma Repeater strong? That and the Plasma Launcher were great in the Beta and ended up getting nerfed.
I find it the Covenant response to the AR. It, essentially, does the same thing.
That’s how I see it.

Yes, but it’s still weak.
put back in plasma stun from halo 1. the plasma rifle was just slightly more powerful in halo 1 than 2 and it made it actually useful to have plasma stun. in the later halos i hardly pick up plasma weapons. they need to restore that balance from halo 1 where any gun could beat another in more skilled hands.

The Needler takes 14 shots to kill. The equivilant of that is the grenade launcher, which takes only one shot to kill.
The needle rifle takes 7 shots to kill. The DMR takes 5.
The plasma repeater takes 18 shots to kill and you have to lead your targets with it. The AR takes 18 shots to kill, is hitscan, and has a tighter spread.
The plasma grenades have a smaller blast radius and they cannot be bounced.

Yes, but rate of fire?
Well, I guess they felt stronger than they actually were.
The Focus Rifle needs a buff at the very least. At the moment it’s basically an Assist Rifle.

Ok, play slayer, on a custom map where all of one team has elite weapons and the other team with only human weapons, just see who wins!

Just play Invasion slayer and you will know that the Elite weaponry is weaker.

True the Covenant don’t have much against Banshees (a massive oversight), but the Plasma Pistol, FRG, Plasma Launcher, Plasma Grenades and Plasma Repeater prove effective enough against all the other vehicles.
I think the Focus Rifle should have the power necessary to down a Banshee, Ghost, or Mongoose. And the Concussion Rifle should do much more vehicle-specific damage.
The Focus Rifle of all Covie weapons is the one that needs the real damage buff. Maybe a slight Plasma Repeater buff too. But other than that they are all pretty spot-on for what they need to do.
Sure the Sword Block should be removed, but MOSTLY it’s not a big deal, it’s Armor Lock that’s the problem.
And the NR may lose consistently against same-skilled DMR players. But that’s the fault of the DMR having a broken bloom system, not the NR being underpowered.
And if the Banshee is STILL tearing players apart. One subtle nerf that will make all the difference would be to make Banshee flips NOT cause tracking loss. The Plasma Launcher, Plasma Pistol, and Rockets should still maintain the lock if the Banshee flips. It’s more of an “instant dodge” maneuver anyway.

I actually want to do that to see how noticeable the differences are. I don’t think it even needs to be a full match, just something where the differences are noticeable. I don’t have time to notice them in a full match. That’s why I spoke in ignorance.

They should add spiker or plasmarifle to multiplayer
Covenant weapons are pretty strong. The only reason why it’s harder to get kills with them is that unlike human weapons, most of them aren’t hitscan weapons. This means that you have to lead your target with the plasma pistol/rifle/repeater, spiker, and even the needler to some extend.
But then comes the problem with bullet magnetism, which makes leading your target rather tricky. Instead of the plasma projectiles going where you want them to go so that they’ll hit a moving target, they’re slightly re-directed towards your target’s current position. And this in turn makes your shots land behind your target if it’s moving.
