I’m of the firm opinion that buck was probably the second best character in H5 MC being the first. I would love to see Buck get his own team , his own game with his own adventures. his one liners are great. He is like the DeadPool of The Halo Universe. who is with me??
seriously this thread made my day
i am laughing so hard
Obviously someone never heard of ODST.
He was not a spartan then Now he is. and that was on 360. Not XB1. Not to mention that ODST was horrible, the worst of the series. It was not on the level of the other halo games. I want some equal to Reach or H5 (I love the H5 campaign).

ODST was pretty great, actually. The feel of it as well as the music was an incredibly needed breath of fresh air.
If you consider H5’s campaign better than that, then I’m not sure what to say.

ODST had an amazing campaign. I love the in between side story of Halo 2 and 3.

Amazing.

It’s one of my favorites, it was different enough to be fresh but still a Halo game, and I loved the characters.
EDIT:
This too

How can you hate the ODST campaign. The open world feel of the Rookies missions interspersed with the stories of Buck, Romeo, Mickey, and Dutch as they all meet back up was an amazing take on how to do a campaign. Heck I spent hours roaming around the night level with Rookie looking for all of the good weapons and trying to find all of the terminals (I still haven’t managed to do that).

ODST was easily my favorite Halo game. I spent hours roaming around Mombasa Streets. The music was easily some of Marty’s best.

This. ODST was really great; I loved how different it was from the others. It felt great to play something a bit different with the same “Halo” feel. And also ODST is on the Xbox one as dlc for the MCC collection. So it IS on the One as well.
And after I bought said dlc, I played the hell out of it.
Edit: If anything we need an ODST 2. It was such a great game that it deserves a continuation, just like how we’re getting a new Halo Wars.

I didn’t know him being a Spartan or not made a difference in how “funny” he could be…
And you can buy it for Master Chief Collection for like 5 bucks.
And ODST was underappreciated. Firefight was revolutionary and the basis on what all PvE Halo should be (Spartan Ops was a great idea but in practice…eh). The story was more emotional and very different from the traditional Halo “Kill all the aliens, super soldier” feel. It was dark. Gritty. And it was a mystery game. With a very old-school film noir feel. Bungie even recognized that and that’s what they went for when making the music and tone and environment for the game. In fact, I’m surpised Halo 5’s whole “hunt the truth” thing wasn’t more like ODST’s side-stories. You could play through the game like normal but if you found certain things you’d get the true story little by little.
And saying you want a Buck-centric game but then saying you want a Halo 5 style campaign is contradictory. In Halo 5 you only rarely get to play as the main character, so in a Buck-centric game, 90% of the time you’ll be playing as Dutch and the you’ll get to play as Buck for, what, three levels?

that point is moot because you said NOTHING along those lines in your OP
your criteria was
-his own game
- his own team
-his own adventures
-his one liners :this game is full of them
also ODST is on xbox one for $5
also if you are calling ODST the worst in the series yet Buck is the PRIMARY ANTAGONIST then you sir are contradicting yourself
How about we get a short explaining how he survived ODST, or should we assume it is classified

His survival in ODST is explained in ODST…

What do you mean exactly? He survived with the rest of Alpha-Nine by hijacking a phantom and using it to escape the city as the fleet arrived to glass the area.
