Bubbles :(

Who else like the bubble shield? This Hardlight crap is silly, no-one ever uses it (with good reason). The bubble shield was fun to use and I think it offered better gameplay anyway.

The bubble shield and the Regen where the best. Something about actually seeing them on the ground when activated and spinning was nice. I hate how in reach the bubble shield became an ability and lets not even talk about Halol 4.

The only way the Hardlight shield could work would be if you formed a Phalanx. Which would be pretty damn awesome when you think of it.

It would definitely slow the game pace down, but with AA’s like Prom vision and active camo campers would become more of a threat then NK

I wouldn’t mind it if it were a pick up where solid map control was rewarded.

Also, Relevent OP :stuck_out_tongue:

Uh no thanks. The bubble shield was awful if you guys ever played Halo 3. It was probably just as bad as armor lock because in armor lock you couldn’t shoot while using it. It was the most frustrating thing in the world when someone was one shot and they pulled out a bubble shield. I hated it when people would go in the bubble shield then come out and snipe you.

HAHA I see what u did there. Kudos.

In Reach, the Bubble Shield had the health regeneration trait for players inside it.
Practical for SOME gametypes.

Grenades and Shotguns, both work wonders.

Yes because standing in one place till the shield colapses is better gameplay. The HLS allows to make pushes down choke points. You just clearly don’t know how to use it properly. Its also good for moving out in the open if a sniper has eyes on you.

Or you can just spawn in an Incineration Cannon in from Ordnance and kill him and everyone else.

Halo 4 logic.

I’ve killed a quite a few spartans simply by waiting for their HLS to run out and sniping them from a distance. And if you throw a grenade well, you can put it behind he shield and the blast from the back kills them.

One thing I do sort of miss is Armour lock from Reach - especially with the number of people getting Ghost splatter kills. Watching ghosts explode when they hit your shield was amusing in Reach. In H4 I am pretty much forced to carry a plasma pistol and some plasma grenades just for the ever present ghost threat - even in 4x4 slayer games.

Well to be frank you really suck then.

Step 1: Run in

Step 2: Toss grenade

Step 3: Run out

Congrats, you’ve just flushed your opponent out of his bubble shield

I use the Hardlight shield all the time. I just wish it would stop vehicles.

Nope, not against good players. It has limited ‘health’ thus is team shot pretty easily, and if they decide to team-nade you, you are simply dead within an instant.

Equipment is the same as power weapons. It’s like you’re complaining about someone pulling out rockets and killing you out of nowhere.

You chose to not contend that weapon/equipment spawn, and are thus suffering for it.

I liked how you could form a giant protective wall of bubble shields. We used to plow through them with a warthog and look at the enemy scatter in panic…

I think it could work as an armor ability in the next game, it just needs alot of tweaks.

If the Reach Bubble shield came into halo 5 how would you want it to be differant?

Sorry! double post

hard light shield is fine. with all the whining about how everything is either wrong, doesn’t fit, is either under-powered or over-powered, you have a shield that can both prolong your life in many situations and yet is not going to make you entirely invulnerable from all angles. i use it to deny plasma pistol shots, to guard from grenades, to make quick escapes back to cover when grossly outnumbered, survive shots from tanks, banshees and gauss hogs, bounce spammed auto-fire back to it’s user, take the front line and protect my team mates, etc etc.

you can get distraction medals quite easily through strategic use. many people see the shield and think they can just wait for it to run out and stay focused on you, ignoring the bigger picture momentarily. if anyone on your team is with you, those types get cleaned up easily and you all move on to the next fight. if you like to be in the action, it’s a great ability. it’s the same idea as the bubble shield or the absolutely horridly over-used noob-lock (which i never really had a problem with anyway… wait for it to run out. head shot. done.), but leaves you having to put some effort into it.
