The evolution of the shield mechanic has had it’s various versions and I wonder what would happen if these were all in the next Halo at the same time. This is under the assumption the Bubble Shield would be converted to a armor ability. Also the other assumption is that Armor Lock would be the super nerfed version.

That did happen, it was called the Drop Shield and it was in Halo: Reach.
