Bubble sheild return idea

So you remember the bubble shield from halo 3 and reach right? Well I have an idea for its return. I know armor abilities are gone but what if you turned it into a grenade? Calling it the “shield grenade”! It would be thrown like a regular grenande but once it impacts anything a small shield deploys a little smaller than the bubble shield. What do you think 343?.. If you ever see this. I thought of it myself, you should consider it!

That is actually a really good idea, not just for the bubble shield either. They could really do a lot with equipment grenades. Great idea!

Slow motion grenade anyone? Call it the gravity grenade, get stuck in the radius and you lose some mobility.

I personally like the idea. (Would have never thought of that.)

I would much rather this over the current Spartan abilities. I can imagine that a power drain grenade would need a smaller radius but could be ridiculously op but some like flare or even regen would be great. imaging you see your team mates getting double teamed but your not in much of a position to help. throw a regen grenade at him to even the odds. I would say all these would need to be a bit weaker than H3s but with some balancing it would be great!

you could name it the Anchor grenade! easy way to pull people out of sprint.

Thinking about it, a lot of equipment and/or armor abilities could work in the grenade slot. You should only be able to hold one type of equipment though, instead of having 18 grenade slots and spamming equipment after equipment. Use the weapon pickup button to swap equipment that you find on the battlefield.

Power drain could still have a large area of effect, just give it the same throwing distance that it had in Halo 3 with an underhanded toss animation instead of an overhand throw.
Regeneration Field/Regenerator is just fine as it is in Halo 3, give us exactly that.
Bubble shield could stay as it is in Halo 3 or it could be given a longer throwing distance so you could throw it at a teammate in need and save him.
Portable Grav Lifts are always fun. Less necessary with clamber now but who doesn’t love a grav lift?
Hardlight Shield would be more situational since you’d have to take a second to select it and couldn’t easily do it in the heat of battle. It would have a limited battery though.
Active Camo could have a short animation play where you press a button on a handheld camo device or a camo device strapped to the arm. Limited battery as well, but full camo effect with no radar jam since you don’t spawn with it.
Overshield could be done the same way as AC but your double or triple shields would only charge if you are not taking damage, so you wouldn’t be able to run into a room full of enemies and use overshield when your shields get low. You’d have to activate it before you went in and wait up to 4 seconds to get all your shields. If you take damage before the shields fully charge, it stops where it is and you don’t get any more.
Radar Jammer was always one of my favorites. Just make it like Halo 3.
Jetpack could be a “Legendary” pickup but picking it up trades your thruster ability for the verticality that Jetpack offers. Limited battery/fuel.
Flare would be great for rushing a very campy enemy team.
Promethean Vision or alternatively VISR should have a very limited range to see through walls, only about 15-20 meters, and you only see outlines through walls. Seeing someone unobstructed would display what weapons and grenades they are carrying next to them and their shield and health strength above their head and gamertag. It would highlight anyone up to a Sniper Rifle’s maximum range if they are unobstructed. It would be more of an information provider and less of a wallhack like PV in Halo 4. It would have a limited use and could be turned off and on but doing so plays a short animation of the Spartan raising their hand to their helmet like they are pressing a button so you have to use it very tactically and can’t do it in a firefight, but taking damage doesn’t effect its use.

Wow i was just talking about bubble shield on another post…great idea! I just want fun things like equipment back in the game! Long as its map pick ups and not something you can choose to start with. I guess if we want this we better be VERY vocal about it.

Bump for interest guys!

I’d rather it not return at all, as with most of Halo 3’s equipment.

It would also be more practical to have weapons that function like equipment instead of trying to fit all pieces of equipment into the grenade slot.
