So, let’s get to business. I loved the bubble shield in Halo 3 and I loved the Drop Shield in Halo: Reach. I would like for it to make a return. Anyone with me?
Since Armor Abilities will not return, I can guarantee you that you won’t see the Drop Shield. However, the Bubble Shield will always be a possibility.
I’d really like equipment to make a comeback in Halo 5. Bring back the old favorites and add new ones. In halo 3 it added a dynamic that was fun and I’d love to see what the excellent talent at 343 could do with that.
I want armour abilities… drop shield seems like a fun activity, bubble shield is nice.

AA’s did not do anything good for Halo. Neat concept but they really ruined the game and made everything unpredictable. They didn’t work in reach and they didn’t work in halo 4 ( albeit far more balanced than reach).

If only they had visual indicators to inform people on what the person they’re about the render into molecules with an Incineration Cannon is going to have…

AA’s did not ruin the game. They certainly did make the multiplayer more erratic than before surely, but in some regards AA’s such as the Jetpack really did expand what Halo was capable of especially in custom games.

OT: Yes, I too would love the return of equipment, it did indeed make for interesting plays and I loved the dynamic they created. The Bubble Shield would be nice to see, though I’d prefer a Drop Shield made into a equipment.
I love the Dropsheild but since AA’s aren’t in it would have to appear in a different fashion.
I always liked map based equipment. Bring back the Bubble Shield and the Regen…forget the drop shield.
Never say never for the Bubble Shield, it can be included in some fashion, wait and see I guess.
Since I started playing reach again, I’ve never seen the drop shield being used a single time.
Bubble/Drop shield…aaaaaaah i remember, it is real awesome. i agree.
Bubble shield was a great piece of kit, I’d welcome it back in a heartbeat in just about any shape. Think back to the Halo 3 “not yet” trailer for all the Awesome Chief-ness you’ll ever need.
It could be a new grenade type.
I hated that piece of ugliness in Halo:Reach, but I loved it in Halo 3. Return it as an equipment in it’s or something similar to it’s original form.

AAs are fun.
I already think 343i will get the Arena focused competitive player versus player right. It’s the other things I’m worried about.
And armour abilities don’t make everything unpredictable. There are a few things that aren’t very balanced, but generally, you face the enemies, learn what they have and adapt to that playstyle and gear they have. Know, or feel the enemy is going to thruster pack to try and assassinate you? Back up and let some distance so he doesn’t get behind you but simply close to you. It’s fun when that happens. It doesn’t create all unpredictability and randomness like Random Ordnance and Random personal ordnance.
armor abilities should come back. drop sheilds are nice. and hey, what about armor lock?

This sounds like a super cool idea. I mean abilities that you could throw out. This could present a whole new level of team work. It actually reminds me of the original Halo 3 trailer where Master Chief throws the bubble shield.
