If we got BTB with starting weapon of the BR, that’s truly all that I would play. The AR & Pistol start is very frustrating competing with 11 teammates for mid to far range weapons.
Why not try to go get close range weapons and engage in the close combat portions of each map? You could even go to vehicles and try vehicle combat.
I think long range weapons being generally easy to use when compared to other games long range weapons has put a strangle hold on Halo. It makes people feel like unless they have one they are doomed to get wrecked and that shouldn’t be the case. It hurts weapon variety, map movement, and vehicle and turret use.

The downfall is the distance and what seems to be a brutal bloom on the pistol. Needs a major buff in distance for btb. Run for 5 minutes to maybe get killed by a vehicle or the one guy with a battle rifle, then spawn n do it again. Meanwhile you could atleast compete with that guy if there was more battle rifles to obtain on the map. Turns into a camp for the battle rifle or sniper in my experience, then when you get it you wreck everyone because they can’t touch you
The issue is that Halo CE magnum had a scope and since then they just keep changing it. No consistency.
That’s the issue, not enough weapons on the map to distribute amongst the team. Now the entire team doesn’t need a BR the entire time, but at least half the team should have access to/have one. I still think starting with commando and ar would be better. Commando needs some more fine tuning before that happens. It’s currently a little too accurate… just a little. This would give a good mid range option and it’ll be accurate enough to fight off the snipers and such. I wouldn’t suggest trying to win that fight, but you can determine if you should fight or move once you’re in that situation. You only need to hit them the once to descope and that’s your opportunity.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Rank BTB making a return in Halo Infinite as long as it’s with No Motion Sensor. Especially since Social BTB is now a thing. Now is the perfect opportunity to bring back Rank Big Team Battle and have players spawn in with the BR. That way these stupid arguments will disappear

The only reason why people want BR Starts is because how overwhelming powerful and useful it is compared to other weapons. Nowadays people that play Halo don’t want to learn the maps and find different ways to take out there enemy. They just want to point and shoot without learning anything which turns into stale gameplay experience for everyone. Which in the long run makes people stop playing the game. Yeah, core audience will continue to play but that’s not enough to keep the game alive.
As for the whole weapon thing one of the biggest problems with Halo is if all the weapons where base off the Lore and Sci-Fi Universe more then these conversations asking for BR Starts wouldn’t even be a thing. Halo Armory for weapons doesn’t make a bit of since at all. I’ve been playing Halo since the beginning and hoping that one day the Halo Armory for weapons will actually start making some type of sense. But sadly, that day has still yet to come which is depressing because Halo has so much potential to becoming a huge game again in the FPS Community. But when you have Humanity Armory dominating everything else in every single game for multiplayer it becomes repetitive and stale. Which pushes people away from the game.

Yep. Please swap Skockets for a BR Start Slayer. I don’t particularly want BTB starts but it adds variety and Skockets has actively driven me away from BTB.

This would add great value to BTB. I love the idea of even just having a BR start mode!
Personally, I’d rather keep Skrockets as it feels like a refreshing change of pace compared to adding in BTB but just with Battle Rifle Starts. Having something that breaks it up from time to time helps keep modes fresh and enjoyable for longer.
I enjoy Skrockets too, and it gives me some much needed practice with the Skewer that can’t really be gotten even from the gun range course.

Nothing wrong with that but I feel like you might be in a minority on these forums at least. Guess we’ll find out if it’s popular community wide based on how long it stays in the playlist.
It wouldn’t bother me too much because leaving a BTB game doesn’t screw over your team too badly, except I find it hard to get games of BTB at the moment and I’m bitterly disappointed when it turns out to be Skockets.
