BTB Req Slayer, a new community playlist!

If 343i launched a permanent 8v8 playlist, featuring community made maps, that allowed full use of the Req system, would you play?

I beleive it would be extremely benefical to 343i and the community if 343i released a social “Req” playlist that featured the Req System found in Warzone Assault.

This would allow players to earn, use, buy, and sell Req points/reqs in a different , yet fun, PVP setting.

Imagine a Social Slayer 8v8 playlist where Req progression worked similarly to warzone assault, as time went on and your performance improved more and more Req weapons/powerups would be available to all players of the match.
It would allow players looking for a casual PVP expirence another outlet to use those extra Req weapons and earn more points for warzone or simply buying more packs. It would replace the former BTB HEAVIES made popular in Halo Reach.

I beleive a system as such would benefit 343i as theyd likely see an increase in Req Sales and benefit the community, as it would be a great place to try new community made maps. Or if your a forger, another playlist you could submit your maps to.

Please discuss your opinions on this idea below!

CLARIFICATION: Im not advocating this REPLACE BTB or any playlist, but have it as a separate standalone playlist. If you remember INFINITY SLAYER from H4, this would be very akin to that. Each month 343i would ADD BRAND NEW Community made maps to the playlist. This would allow ALOT more community content to be seen and played by the community in a setting that is extremely social and lighthearted!

Yes, that would be awesome.

Great to hear! I have some close ties to many of our Community Cartographer’s (Those responsible for finding and testing the best community content) and if this is something many of you like, it could very well end up a real possiblity! Thanks for the support!

Heck Ya! Get this trending!

Perhaps if there was a limit on how many vehicles each team could bring out. BTB maps are not necessarily capable of managing a bad balance of vehicles to infantry.

This would def be something that would need to be balanced In a slayer setting, I honestly would think vehicles could be disabled and spawn as they normally do, or as you said they have a limit to how many can be on the map at once.

You’re advocating for warzone, without AI, on BTB maps. I don’t think its different enough to warrant its own playlist

Nope, you only make the req system even worse by letting it touch other modes if the game. I’m perfectly fine with it staying in just warzone only.

Does Warzone have community made forge maps? Is Warzone assault a slayer Gametype?
What warrants its own playlist is the ability to add an endless supply of community made maps to the playlist overtime, keeping it fresh and exciting for playlist goers

In what ways does it make it worse? This would be limited to one playlist and that is all. If its not something that interests you, steer clear of the playlist. Dont say NO to something simply out of fear for what could come, but for what it is exactly. I’m not advocating incorporating Req into normal playlists but a singular fun casual based BTB playlist. Think of it like action sack, or team fiesta. Just because we have those playlists does that somehow mean they are going to seep into the other playlists? The answer is clearly no. Regardless, thanks your your reply.

Sounds like a fun idea to me! It could be a weekend playlist, so it doesn’t see too much abuse, but it would be fun to see something like this be tried out!

If this is replacing any existing playlist I’m not into it. Either way I’m not interested in req oriented gamemodes. So I answered no.

This is disappointing. I feel your not using critical thinking skills. Currently warzone is competing with BTB an the other playlists for players. This is a HUGE negative to us as forgers because it means 343i has less initiave to add Community made content to MM as it takes away from the Warzone playerbase, thus taking away from potential profit. A playlist as I described above would incentivise 343i to continue to support and add custom made content into the playlist as this content would keep players coming back into the playlist to see new maps, which would help 343i sell more Req packs and help us forgers, by getting our content into MM.

I like the idea, but I don’t like how you go about explaining the idea. How I would do it is have it so that the base map can function on its own with the base vehicles, weapons, etc, but when you load up the Warzone variant, all the weapons and vehicles get switched to REQ variants, including starts. What loads on each map is randomized as the map loads up, so it would entice players to keep coming back in a similar manner to Super Fiesta; you never know what’s gonna come next.

Actually yes, it most definately can encourage 343 to move it to other playlists. You may only want it in one mode but you’re not 343 are you? Do you control their actions? Remember when the reqs first came out? People were worried 343 would get more aggressive with it. They have as well, look at the month of mythics and even some weapons already being in the arena playlists. The anwser is you clearly don’t know 343s motives and only risk 343 getting more aggressive on adding crap to other playlists.

I do not believe that I would play this. If I really wanted to play with REQs, I’ve already got a PvP mode, a PvE mode, and a PvPvE mode.

I just had flashbacks to Infinity Slayer, after reading this.

No, I play BTB to avoid the REQ system.

Why not just add a wazone slayer gametype? And add the ability to create warzone maps in forge? That makes a lot more sense…

Nah nah nah, what we need is…

16 vs 16 warzone with no Ai on the battlefield
