I agree, we should certainly start with br in btb.
I spend more than half my time trying to find one avaliable if they are even there at all.
At least making the option of precision a thing like MCC would please a lot of people.

I agree but at the same time, I enjoy hoarding the BR and feeding on the guppies trying to hit me across the map with their AR. 3.86 K/D BTB KEKW

Lol yeah once I started playing BTB my stats went bonkers. I go consistently positive in every other playlist But in BTB I’m stacking bodies like the 300.
It’s not the most ideal way to do things when they’re so focused on PREVENTING that in every other playlist. Maybe meet somewhere in the middle so that skill is rewarded over taking advantage of the bad system.
We need the h5 magnum back tbh. Halo is better with precision starts and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves

I think they focused too hard on making things have a similar ttk instead of focusing on functionality. The Sidekick isn’t any more of a precision weapon than the AR in the current system, it’s just a spammy alternative to an automatic.
A sidearm that gets headshots, but has some accuracy at range should have been the way to go. That way you have the AR for closer range fights where you can kill people faster, and the pistol for headshot cleanups and fights at slightly longer ranges than the AR is optimal. Make it kill a little slower by itself, like the BR already does, and you have two weapons with Slightly different But overlapping functions instead of an AR and sidearm with the exact same function.
This Would have been pretty perfect for an AR starts game in mind. I don’t think anyone would have been frustrated with that dichotomy either.

BR start in BTB is a horrible idea and I feel as if people who keep asking for it does not understand Halo Sandbox . The BR is a mid to long range weapon meaning BR starts means tons of camping, BR starts changes the strategy of all of gameplay. AR is to force close combat and gives you a job per say. I am in close combat and here are 2 Spartan while I am using my AR from a distance my teammate is using the BR to help support me in this close up combat. I have saved many teammates in this way.
BR Slayer on Launchsite is my most hated game mode because folks are just camping but AR shots we are hunting each other.

Hard disagree.
AR starts make you have to be more tactical and prevent the game from being a campfest where everyone is hiding behind cover pinging each other with BR’s. I only like AR starts.
But how about this? Rather then saying one is better than the other, why not just accept people like different playstyles? COD fans can play a BR starts game and Halo fans can get their AR starts. Halo used to be known for the variety of ways you can play, I.E. different playlists.

Wow its like a microcosm of every bad argument against BR starts all in one.
Y’all know we’ve been playing with BR starts(or CE Pistol or H5 Magnum or DMR) for over a decade right? We know how it plays out and it plays nothing like how you claim it does outside of Halo 4 with its ordnance drops eliminating the need to move to control weapons(among many other things).
Precision starts only look like that if you believe
*Anyone shooting at range is “camping”
*Map control is “camping”
*Players preferring versatile weapon on larger maps means the BR is “OP” and not that close range weapons have inherently more limited uses, especially on larger maps.
Its the AR stans that don’t understand Halo.

Why do people not understand that AR starts is what promotes camping and cheesy gameplay? You can’t move if the enemy has even 2-3 good mid to long range weapons or vehicles. You just feed kills running around trying to find a range where the AR/Sidekick can contribute. So what happens is, a lot of people learn to stop running around with AR’s and instead either hide around corners with a shotgun or hammer, or they pick up the BR and do what they should have done in the first place.
I just don’t get why people keep making this argument, and I don’t know how to explain it any more clearly.
I guess I’ll just keep going +35 every match until people realize what they’re doing wrong

How about this? I’m right and you’re wrong. If you want to play BR starts in BTB go play customs with all your friends and all these people you’re enlightening with your " educational videos. " ? Problem solved.

At this point 343 should be trying to find a middle ground.
Why not try mixed starts? Can even chuck the commando in amongst the AR & BR as a starter rifle too.
(Commando needs a 2x sensitivity slider to adjust its ADS sens, why is there not one yet?)
