There are other unranked and social playlists. Some say that it is “too competitive” when ranked but it is no different really. People still betray for the sniper, etc.
It makes it seem pointless if there is no rank to climb and it was not a social playlist in Halo 4.

It is the same as before. People don’t play it because it is ranked or not. I play it either way and I am one of those.We all still play there. If it were ranked, at least you would play against people of your own skill level.Besides, you can play a social playlist if you want that.

The reason it has so many is because it’s “social” now. When it was ranked, the tryhard matched the tryhard more often and casuals would match eachother more often. Over time that would lead to better separation and it would only be tryhard vs tryhard and casual vs casual.
Most of these “tryhards” dont want to face the best of the best, they prefer to demolish lesser players because they dont like to lose. When it was ranked, it would match better and it avoided the problems of having competitive vs casual.
As soon as it became social, you lose all of the above, so you are more likely to play “tryhards” who just like to pad stats than matching casuals because the real competitve people prefer to play compettive people.

Exactly. If they would give us a ranked one, it would keep the two groups separated!!! Great idea - I am editing the Post Title now. One BTB Ranked and one BTB Social would make us all happy.
