BTB maps

So I know that BTB can be fun but it lacks quite a few maps then it did before. I miss a couple of maps and I’ve spent most of my time in BTB super fiesta and the maps I get are Dispelled, Ancestor, Viking, Traffic Jam, Boulevard, Eagle Square, Port Authority, Fracture, Echoes, Guillotine, and Altar. I miss some of the older maps like Basin, Antifreeze, Estuary, Unearthed, Recurve, and a couple others I may have forgotten about. 343 please add back more maps or replace certain ones. If you’re rplacing then please replace Ancestor and Boulevard , those are my least favorite maps. Let me know what you guys think.

Are you talking about Super Fiesta or the regular BTB? Recurve is still in the map rotation so you’re probably just not getting it. Most of those other maps that you want to return had their own problems and I wouldn’t want them back unless they were changed. They might not be an issue in the Super Fiesta version though. Anyway, BTB is getting a refresh with new maps soon so we’ll see what happens.

Both. Maybe recurce is exclusive to regular BTB cause I haven’t seen it in the super fiesta version. New maps huh? It’d be interesting to see them utilize a regular phaeton on map. That is one vehicle that hasn’t touched arena surprisingly.

The Wasp is already bad enough if the teams aren’t matched properly and a Phaeton is like a Wasp on steroids. It wouldn’t work in regular BTB, but if they made a Heavies variant, then I could see adding one.

Perhaps but unlike the wasp, the phaeton isn’t as agile and its a much bigger target to hit. On top of that its the only air vehicle without a shield so I think good teamshot can take it down.

Unfortunately even in the customs community, the Phaeton does not get used. It is such an imbalanced vehicle that it is either too powerful or you have to sacrifice game play elements like a proper weapon layout and make the map extremely open, which forces the map design to be poor for infantry.

At this long in Halo 5’s lifespan, it is safe to say the Phaeton will not see matchmaking in a competitive way.

Perhaps but I feel like you have to be really smart in designing a map for a phaeton. I think that it is possible but not easy at all.

I prefer to have maps that were created by the development team with amazing textures and color like in previous Halos, not this weird bland tan, red and gray stuff. The forge community is alright but those maps should under the menu… BTB Forge not the normal BTB. I suffer frame rate issues ALL the time with community maps. The Dev team then needs to not make more than 1 version of a map because then I don’t remember the maps because one map will have a wall then the next version will have a hallway with a rocket launcher… Heck even the maps don’t even have a picture so I can see what map it is so I can remember it like in past Halos. Toooo many options.

He made the Ancestor map, so I’d say he’s pretty informed on what works and what doesn’t work.

Halo reach had the best big team battle imo, big outdoor maps, plenty of cover from -Yoink!- ghosts

Hopefully they will have developed maps in halo infinite. The only map i can recall suffering from framerate issues is probably the older version of recurve.

Where is this info?

Yeah, because they weren’t designed by people who think extremely open maps are somehow “bad for infantry”. There’s a reason why Halo 5’s BTB was never very popular and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that most of its maps lack heavy vehicle play, and are cramped and confined in comparison to the BTB maps of previous Halo games and the wide open Warzone maps.

I agree, new maps would be refreshing but no Phaetons please.

I don’t play Big Team much but I do play a lot of Fiesta for commendations and would love them to rotate some new maps into the mix every so often. I actually thought 343 did a good job with Big Team maps in Halo 4 but they seem to have more of an arena focus in Halo 5.

What if they use a regular phaeton in btb super fiesta? what that be acceptable? I thought maybe they could add that into regular btb but due to the opinions in this post it might happen in the fiesta version.
