The warthog turret needs a 10% damage boost or more. It should be able to melt ghosts, yet it can’t even get a ghost near death with perfect shots from the turret before the overheating sets in. The warthog seems like an easy double or triple as always.
The other warthogs are just fine.
Gungoose is perfect. I love it.
Mantis is fine, it needs support from your teammates to function well.
Banshee on headlong is really, really overpowered. But still friggin awesome if you get it! Your teammates should all be putting shots on it to burst it down.

And the spawning was terrible. I was spawnkilled by snipers and scorpion tanks multiple times. Not a big fan of Halo 5 in general but honestly this did not feel like the BTB I was hoping for.
Not professional maps. They were designed by amateurs with talent, but amateurs nonetheless. 343 may have helped polish these maps, but fundamentally if a map is designed by anyone but a professional, it’s going to be obviously suffer in terms of gameplay. Shame on 343.
I truly believe the new combat was not designed to be played on anything but small, arena maps. Not open fields.

Gungoose is good fun, although the map designs do make it difficult to control and escape if you get in trouble, but then i guess that’s balance!

Ghost is OP. You’re more likely to die in it, than have it destroyed.
Halo 5 BTB is trash… the one thing about the Halo 5 BTB is the spawning… if you push with your team just a little past the halfway point the enemy team spawns behind you. Unlike other halo games BTB playlists they wouldn’t spawn behind you unless you push all the way to their base. Second, all the maps on BTB are symmetrical there should be no reason to have a type of spawning similar to FFA or team slayer in a big map like those. For example, the map boneyard on Halo Reach was a perfect BTB map because it wasn’t symmetrical so it wouldn’t matter where anyone would spawn. Also, the map Hemorrhage is a perfect example because it is one of those symmetrical maps and the enemy would spawn on the RED SIDE OF THE MAP if you were blue team unless you were pushed to their base. Same for red team. Its annoying that I get enemy players spawning behind me when my team isn’t even pushed to their base. I love Halo 5 and i think its a great game with the ranking system and all, and the new mode Warzone, I liked the other versions of BTB, but just Halo 5 BTB is the worst thing about halo 5 I don’t look forward to play it at all.
BTB is awesome in h5. It’s competitive. Small maps = you can’t just cruise around aimlessly. And I think the forgers did a great job, really clever sight lines and use of natural features and geography to create power positions and what not. I also think it’s really cool that 343 is reaching out to the community, finding these ppl who have spent so much of their own time and energy becoming great with forge and gotten them involved in the big show.

> Some of the maps on BTB are really odd. It feels like that level on Mario 64 where you can play the same board at two different sizes (small mario, and mega mario, the level with the volcano). Now we are mega mario. I can’t wait for new non-forge maps, or larger forge maps for BTB.
The maps reminded me of that same mario level. Way too small. There’s no way the Xbox one can’t handle maps the size of an original xbox halo 2 map like wetwork, or xbox 360 map like Avalanche. Sequels are supposed to get better, not get worse…

Drinking game for you:
Every time someone in #Destiny says “Self Entitled” or “Whiner” take a drink. You win if you don’t die from alcohol poisoning or liver failure.

Played a game of ctf on the snowy mad (cant temember the name) enemy player ran into our base through the flag onto the middle and camped our base causing us to spawn in the middle where we were being sniped and shot at from both our base and the enemy base with nothing much we could do. Maps were not well planned out at all. Also in the valhalla remake no idiot in the history of the planet made a fort surrounded by higher ground. The bases should have the advantage not the attakers on the rocks at both sides. It makes defence on ctf near impossible

> I hope you’re kidding. Have you tried to drive a wart hog on the -Yoink- rendition of Standoff? The hills are so steep you can’t drive smoothly anywhere. It’s atrocious. Why even spend the time to do something like making old maps for btb of they all are so incredibly bad. Also, visuals are a big deal. It’s not a pleasant experience playing the horrendous btb maps.
I have to agree with you, albeit with a less angry tone. The graphic breakdown of the Forge-made maps is a big deal. There is almost zero texture to the environment, save for the trees. Granite boulders and cliffs look like sandpaper (which is not far from reality - but these looks like cartoon sandpaper). The grass/fields/ground is literally just a jaggedly bent plane that runs abruptly into the map’s cliffs/walls. It’s definitely not pretty and plays havoc on driving mechanics (any 4 wheeled vehicle is gonna bounce around when it hits a sharp 45 degree uphill grade). There is much room for improvement here, and I do hope they make first party maps outside of Forge for BTB. It’s early on, so it can only get better!
And one more thing. The Blood Gulch-inspired “Basin” is very hard to like. There is little resemblance to Blood Gulch/Valhalla, whatever. Uphill both ways, hard to defend, and “Basin”? That’s a terrible name. Dig into the epic map name basket and do better.
