Almost every BTB I’ve played someone with a wasp winds up with a killtacular or greater.
Seems like there are so few options to deal with them, especially playing as a solo.
Thoughts?
Sniper rifles kill it in 3 shots, warthogs tear it apart, the hydra is pretty good too. If you are using the AR it’s going to shred you, but if you have anything with some power you’ll take it out
Yeah, learn where the hydra is and you’ll start swatting those flies for free.
This is the BIGGEST problem with BTB currently. When enemies are rampaging in ANY vehicle; Due to the way weapon spawns seem to related to game type (or completely at random? Looking at the vaults on Fragmentation specifcially) yet all game types get all vehicles over the course of a match there will be points when there are ZERO power weapons capable of dealing with a Wasp/Banshee or tank vehicle you are screwed without teamwork and strategy which seems to have gone out the window since the game is so intentionally accessible you can’t expect ANYONE to be on mic or willing to play the game how they’re asked to.
I just grapplejack them and that helps or die from it which you know is cool and all…not salty either or anything…
Okay so they just want us to utilitze the EMP weapons and mobility equipment only in those situations? Forgive me but imo the death knell of a video game is when the devs force you to go through a very specific scenario and there’s only one way to deal with said scenario or you will be met only with frustration. From quick time events to on rails sequences, they kill the imagination of the players by limiting our avenues to deal with a complex situation creatively. 343 keeps talking about this in campaign but have they forgetten the mighty Halo MP was just tacked onto a a short fast and sweet campaign and it was amazing because it gave you all the freedom you got in larger campaign levels?
I do admit using the grappleshot or shockrifle is pretty sweet but if you can’t get one, it falls back on my previous point.
There are so many ways to counter the wasp.
Grapple hook
Sniper
Shock Nades - they emp
Hydra
Rocket Launcher
Plasma Pistol
Warthog
Rockethog
Repulsor (send their missiles back at them)
Sticky Nades
Spike Nades
There are so many ways to counter every weapon and vehicle, I used the Repulsor today to kill a tank. It is really up to you on how you limit yourself in-game. Honestly, the weapon drills do help teach you how to the new weapons.
I wish their was more consistency when attacking vehicles. I’ve had wasps tank 6-8 hydra missiles while other times I’ve destroyed them with 4.
Sometimes I destroy a ghost or warthog in a single rocket, other times I see them tank 3. Idk if it is a latency thing but the inconsistency makes fighting vehicles really frustrating.
I’ve dropped the Skewer entirely as I feel like I can put every round of it into a vehicle and still not destroy anything.
You are 100% correct. However, my point about this problem is how these items and weapons spawn. Either randomly or based on game type (I’m not sure yet)
I agree about that in that’s how it should be. But the flow of gameplay doesn’t seem to allow for thinking it through. Especially when it’s all new.
Yes, I believe in social and btb the weapon pads can vary slightly from game to game of the same game type. Competitive arena has consistent weapon spawns for the same game type. I guess 343 is telling us that serious players want consistency and casual players just want a little bit of fiesta every time they approach a weapon rack.
