BTB has frame drops in updated maps

Am i the only when who is seeing this?

Hmm I’ve not hopped in yet. Although it could be to do with the new object count limit pushing the engine. Who knows.

I think its because of light maps. I cant say for certain though. Makers know the best. Anyways how did this get a pass from internal testing?

I noticed some frame drops when I was playing on the canyon map.

I have had frame drops on every one of the new and updated maps I have played so far roughly 8 different maps. It’s especially bad if you are at the back of maps looks out over the map but you also get frame rate drops all over the maps.

Oddly on viking when I got into the Wraith I was getting frame rate drops almost the entire time i was in it.

Can you let me know in what area you get frame drops for Dispelled, that way I can revisit the issue. I thought I had ironed out that wrinkle. haha. Maybe also let the other forgers know as we welcome feedback all the time, good or bad.

my game froze

When I first read about the new update I was thrilled to see some new and remade btb maps since its my favorite playlist but boy was I wrong. The frame rate drops like crazy and that’s also evident on the old remade maps. What happened? Don’t they have any quality check on these things? Will there be a fix? As of now this playlist is ruined for us. I’m strictly talking about the frame rate stuttering and not map design.

Any time I got in a vehicle in Viking I had very noticeable frame drops. Oddly enough in a Ghost the angle and direction of the Ghost made a big difference. Moving the Ghost sideways while looking towards the opposite end of the map caused the game to look like stop motion. Really bad frame rate. Move forward and it was smoother. Hop out and go on foot and was normal. Played 3 matches last evening and all were the same.

It’s like they don’t test these things.

How did something this prominent get passed into the playlist?

I have no idea. In the community updatethey said that they check the maps internally. Well I can see how true that statement really is.

Yeah, it’s pretty bad on some of the maps. This needs to get fixed or revert back to the old maps.

Same here. Hope this gets fixed soon.

I have not experienced this personally.

Some maps are near unplayable… Good luck sniping through all the dropping frames lol.

Like someone said before, do they even test these maps beforehand? They shouldn’t be playable if they hinder gameplay in any way.

Actually, there is a bug in the game that was introduced with the last update (the one with the wasp and Tidal) that is causing rendering issues across the board. Many of these maps had perfect performance previously, but now suffer framerate drops on a regular basis. The graphics team is still looking into the problem last I heard. Because all of these maps are borderline playable now, they should work just fine once a fix is made for the bug. -Squally in another thread

Yeah, I can vouch for frame drops as well. It happened to me on Eagle square. I thought I was the only one, but it not only drops frames it makes the aimer feel even more heavy with the reticle lag that already effects the game anyway.

I want to believe this but a source would be great.
