BTB Flight Feedback: 10/01/21

Some general thoughts on my short time playing BTB:

-Not enough weapons in general

“I did not know where the hell power weapons were on the map you provided. I picked up a sniper rifle from a body only one time. Felt like alot of scarcity weapon rack wise as well. Very hard to get a BR or Commando most of the time but the plasma pistol seems to always be available…”

-Some equipment was more useful in BTB than arena

“The defensive shield, the projectile radar tracker and the grapple hook was way better in BTB than Arena. I actually saw a clanmate grapple hook an enemy Banshee and skyjack it. The Multiplayer Trailer was accurate!”

-Vehicle REQ spawning was better than Pelican drops

“Vehicles felt scarce as well. I was playing on foot most of the time and only got to drive a Warthog twice compared to previous games. Im not waiting on a Pelican to drop a vehicle and race against 12 people on my team to drive it. REQS were infinitely better because as soon as I spawned one in, I could communicate to my team when I was going to get one and where I was coming in to pick them up. Absolutely none of that here and that’s lame as hell…”

-Loot caves are irrelevant

“I never even knew they existed until my old clanmate called it out and opened one. Almost nothing inside when I got there and it was an absolute grenade fest. Never attempting to go for it again because It was always empty or easily forgettable during combat.”

-Cluttered Map design

“Absolutely not suitable for vehicle combat at all. Very easy to plasma nade any Warthog or AR team shot a ghost in general. Vehicles do not last long at at. The high-low-high-low altitude on the map is very unbalanced and not quality at all. It wasn’t a “Big Team Battlefield” for Vehicular Dog Fighting, Fire Team CQB in Buildings or Base Power Positions for Turrets, Snipers or General Overwatch playstyles. Saw only one guy take a turret onto OBJ one time only. I was hoping for something like a Valhalla 2.0 as a fresh take on legacy map knowledge with a twist for the first BTB test. Not a good impression at all. Felt like an unfinished forge map but I digress, it’s a flight…”

General thoughts, Im not impressed at all. I played a few and got off to play Insurgency: Sandstorm instead. Didn’t come back to it. Alot of people are saying this is “REALLY GOOD” when in reality, for an FPS there is some subtle quality here and there but the spartan immersion is broken for me:

-Forced Amor Coatings

-Poor Battle Pass & Store implementation

-Barely any weapons or vehicles because of empty racks, empty loot caves or waiting on long pelican drops

-small and cluttered map design

That’s all for now. Hope launch is decent because there is nothing hype about this flight. No hate.
