BTB filled with AFK's every game

Youre falsely claiming they are afk because they don’t want to play the game mode. While in reality theres lots of reasons why they are afk, issues loading in the match is a main one. There’s already a solution for that which kicks afk players

Stockpile is the mode I see the most AFK’s in so from my perspective that is not making a false claim.
Unless 343 are transparent with numbers of AFK’s in correlation to game modes feel free to make your own claims too.

People having troubles loading in get dropped from servers pretty quick, much quicker than AFK’s

It takes around 2 minutes of inactivity for that to take effect, if you have several AFK’s by the time the system kicks (Assuming they are genuine AFK & not manipulating input to avoid kick & possible temp ban) the server is ruined & it is not fair on anyone getting joined into that game in progress either.

All I’m wanting is a system that tracks & deals with repeat offenders more efficiently & if certain modes are part of the cause why is 343 trying to make people play them when it is negatively impacting the game.
Don’t see what’s wrong with that?

On my Battlefield 2042 Server if you are AFK for 5 mins. The server will kick you off
the server so user’s can join the game in progress.

( Note: The Admin is Exempt from being kicked for being AFK )

I don’t understand why “NONE” of the Halo Games don’t have this in any of the Halo Games. Does not make a damn sense to me at all. :rofl: This is 2022 ain’t it?

Side note: It would be nice to shuffle the teams at the beginning of each game to help keep teams even like 90% of games out there.

AMEN BROTHER!!!
( Gimmie a break. How hard is t to make a AFK’er Script DOH!! )

If player is afk for 300 seconds KIck Player! It aint rocket science people!!

Here is an example of a Auto KIck AFK’er Script:

repeat wait() until game:IsLoaded()
game:GetService(“Players”).LocalPlayer.Idled:connect(function()
game:GetService(“VirtualUser”):ClickButton2(Vector2.new())
end)

Honestly I don’t see many afk players in btb when I play. Most of the people are pretty new to the game and don’t know what’s going on, but they’re moving around a lot.

Btw if anyone wants to party up sometime add me, I’m always running solo and it gets a little old trying to rally a group of randoms

Do people get kicked from the game for being AFK for a certain amount of time?

yes. It’s after 2 minutes i think it is? But there are people who just move a tiny bit every time to avoid it, Those are the very annoying ones.

Yea I see on my MCC wannabe server. I have to kick them manually to kick off the server after 5 mins.

For Halo Infinite, it’d have to be 30 seconds before a kick in 4 vs 4, and they could probably do 45 seconds to a minute for Big Team Battle. This is because the player counts per match is significantly less in this game then Battle Field, and thus AFK players will have a significantly larger impact on the game the longer they’re not kicked from matches.

In 4 vs 4, this is also why people play a lot more serious in most matches as well. To those who wonder why it feels so serious in a game. One bad or AFK player can screw over an entire match. If you get one, in order to compete with the other players, you now have to work harder to compensate for that bad or AFK player.

You are 100% correct. This AFK issue has been on since I start FPS playing games back in 1998 Starting with Starsiege Tribes. That is why people make scripts to kick AFK’ers.

Now you a person is afk all that does is have is kick you off the server and open’s a slot so another user can join a game.

I’ve dealt with AFK’s since Quake back in 1996. Although they weren’t nearly as problematic as they are now, think part of that is due to it using gamespy to find active servers and not relying heavily on a matchmaking system too. But even back then they could be a pain.

It’s just it’s so much worse now-a-days that nearly every game needs to put one of these afk kickers in here, and hope someone can fill the gap quickly enough before the match becomes unsalvageable.

Oh Hell I forgot about Quake!! I ran and Quake 2 and Quake 3 server. I really liked Quake 3 riding on the Hover boards and the Giant damn I forgot but they looked like something from War of The Worlds Walking around :rofl:
And In Unreal Tournament 3 I helped the guy that made some awesome Halo Maps.
IE: Bloodgulch and Hang’em High. That is all I can think of.

Here is the video of Unreal Tournament 3 version of Halo Bloodgulch I helped with:

Thanks to the great memories :smile:

lol I always do that when my food gets cooked or if I want to fetch something or to check websites, notifications etc. or if I get a phonecall :smile:

Back in Halo CE it was also pretty common to go AFK to check a website or do something in a Web browser, because players would chat and exchange information, but now the game is a hostile environment for social interactions (no global chat, and unintuitive team chat) so that element is missing.
