BTB feels wrong

There’s not enough regular weapon spawns is my point. BR’s, pistols, carbines should be more abundant across the map. Not just on a few key spots. They’re treating the most basic of firearms as if they’re power weapons, and thus they’re more sparse leading to less interesting engagements all around. It really most of the time just feels your options are AR/Pistol majority of the time and then play the map for rockets/snipe/skewer, etc… but you never come across players doing unique combos. “Plasma pistol, disrupter, carbine”. These were always good fallback weapons that provided unique options on the battlefield and they spawned in abundance and would lead to more varied player behaviors because someone may resort to odd means out of either knowledge/skill, or desperation which would further lead to amazing plays and exciting battles. Right now the maps just feel bare and without abundant options for different play styles. But that’s just me. I don’t want to invalidate anything you’re saying because I understand where you’re coming from as a Halo fan.

fully agreed, BTB has been a complete write-off for me. Its so far detached from what a 12v12 Halo match should feel like.

Fragmentation would be a good Territories map but it’s just not good for vehicle combat at all. Nowhere to drive them.

Also Deadlock is barely 8v8 size let alone 12v12, lmao

There needs to be more vehicles. But that wouldn’t solve it alone, because even if there are more vehicles there is no where to drive them.

343 has created these goofy narrow maps with cover all over the place since Halo 4, and it is terrible, actually terrible, for BTB.

There is no where to maneuver 4 hogs and 4 ghosts with banshees etc etc.

Yup. Look at all the great BTB maps of the past… Blood Gulch, Sidewinder, Valhalla, Standoff, Rat’s Nest, Avalanche, etc… they all have either huge open spaces for vehicles, or clear vehicle-dominated paths around the map.

What is Halo Infinite’s BTB with respect to vehicles? Big Team trench Peek-A-Boo, where you basically can’t do anything in vehicles except hope that the enemy is incompetent.

Certainly seems off. There’s very little mad scramble for the power weapons and good vehicles… having a wraith or scorpion randomly drop in doesn’t make sense. Minimal opportunity for good contested map control.
Not to mention that total control is bugged most of the time where you cannot capture one of the zones. Has happened every match of the game variant this week for me, definitely odd!

343i’s BTB has always just been a collection of arena maps attached to each other. We need more open space. A lot more.

ill grab a BR and punish 1/2 of the map from my base, and you want EVERYONE to start with one?

343i should invite Max Hoberman from Certain Affinity and ask him to teach them to build good vehicle based BTB maps.

In all honesty the last good BTB map was Highlands, and like all great BTB maps it had plenty of room for vehicles and areas for infantry.

343i need to include more open vehicle friendly maps and bring back the heavy vehicles from the word go. And while their at it the need to look at vehicle damage output, the wasp takes 6 rockets to destroy a hog!!! The banshee bomb is pretty much useless unless it’s a direct hit same with the wraith.

Seriously though 343i need to show some love for BTB, respect it’s legacy and respect the community that loves and plays BTB.

Ah, I was wondering why some matches they seemed to be spawning a fair bit.

So if both teams get close to victory but no one scores the final, that would explain why now and then I see a lot of scorpions and wraiths spawning.

Yes, the basic pistol is inaccurate trash, they need to give us two rifles. the maps have plenty of cover for our shields to recharge as we move up.

I miss when BTB had vehicles right at the base. You would start the match, and bolt to get the Ghost, Tank, Sniper, or Banshee before anyone else. It’s now a big waiting game. Hopefully since 343 stated they will port older Halo game maps into multiplayer, they will all have their original vehicle spawn locations.

My biggest complaints with BTB as a whole is the randomness of weapon spawns and the way vehicles are done. Fix those two and it will be fine. BR start wouldn’t have been necessary if we still had the carbine, but I think that with the lack of decent long range weapons it is needed. Tired of running in grenade spamming and AR spamming, or sitting back waiting for a BR with my pistol out.

The irony that you’re wanting to force others into BR stars…

Ever since Halo 3 BTB has had BR starts, it’s still the best option especially on the huge arena maps that currently rotate in infinite BTB.

BTB has always been my all-time favorite. Now I only play 4v4. It’s just… better in Halo Infinite. But I do have faith they can bring it back. Just need the right maps and tuning.

I don’t understand why so many people love BR starts. With BR starts, players use the sandbox much, much less. Why pick up any other gun when you have the BR? With BR starts, I just won’t use anything else then.

Halo 3 BR starts worked because it wasn’t hit scan. It is a horrible idea to give hitscan BR starts on open maps like Blood Gulch etc.
