BS IN SPARTAN OPS.

Okay has anyone played Spartan Ops online and while playing have seen the following and has caused you to feel butthurt or made someone near you say “You mad bro?”:

  1. Using the sniper rifle to kill a Elite Warrior (basically the Elites with the gold/yellow armor), but it takes 4 shots to the head to break their shields and the sniper rile has only four rounds per magazine. The problem is that YOU ARE SHOOTING A ANTIMATERIAL RIFLE THAT CAN described by the Halo wiki “in addition…to having exceptional accuracy and the ability to take out energy-shielding and high-density armor at the same time.” SO WTF IS THIS BS?! The Sniper rifle can kill a spartan IV with 2 shots to the head, but it takes 5 headshots to kill an Elite Warrior. That doesn’t make sense, if the Spartan IV’s have more advanced armor than before and the Covenant Remnant only uses their old crappy technology, shouldn’t it take less headshots to kill it?

2)When trying to assassinate a Promethean Knight it just instantly kills you as soon as you get too close (though you can do this if a teammate is distracting it). THE -YOINK- IS THIS?! It takes one slash to kill us in any direction, but when we get close enough it just kills us like we some jobber. THIS IS SOME BS!

So do hate these things too or have you had a worst situation you’d like to share with us?

  1. Noob combo all the way. I know, it sucks.

Also, the sniper is best suited for taking out lower ranking Elites. I dunno, I rarely pick it up in Spartan Ops. It’s a pathetic OD given SO’s pacing.

  1. As the Chief, you can survive most of their melees. Their side sweep animation seems to be the only instant kill attack.

Man I got all excited . I thought you were saying BS Angel was in Spartan Ops. Sad face:(

1.Gameplay reasons. In cannon Halo,i think it does one shot kill any elites.

2.Yet another gameplay reason. In cannon, Prometheans are not that strong as the Sops videos show.

Really? It’s not like none of the elites know how to build combat armor. Just because they’re the enemy and their history isn’t as well known to us as our own doesn’t mean they can’t build their own armor. I mean, sure they don’t have as protective armor (that is the scrap part). It’s like a human knowing how to put together their own homemade armor with the limited materials needed. It’s not like Covenant armor magically appears out of a Huragok’s -Yoink- or out of a machine. No, the Coveys have scientists too.

Sorry to rant, but this is a self explanatory question.

I believe spartan ops matchmaking is always set on Legendary

there’s the reason for exceptionally difficult to kill bulletspongy enemies

Now grab a plasma pistol and DMR and laugh at it

thats how it’s always been… would be way too easy to kill them otherwise

I can understand what he’s trying to say but if they were too easy to kill.I’m pretty sure everyone will be complaining that the A.Is in halo 4 are easier to defeat compared to reach or 3.Besides the fact that that’s already being brought up to the forums!

It can get a little frustrating at times when people drop from the game and only 2 people are there to play through the mission.

However, when I used to play Sparton Ops the most painful experience for me was the mission where you begin with Guass Warthog, Rocket Warthog, Chaingun Warthog, and Ghosts. There are also a bunch of Wraiths throughout the mission that you can board. 1 player dropped out and 1 player was AFK the whole mission. I equipped wheelman and drove the Guass for one other player.

People were grinding this mission for exp and I was one of them.

We ended up completing the level: I had 0 kills and 70 wheelman assists. My gunner had 70 kills.

I got something like 700 exp for that mission. I was livid. I busted my -Yoink- keeping the Guass Warthog alive and had lots of fun doing it. I love driving especially with someone who is a capable gunner but there was no reward for it.

After that, I decided to agree with everyone complaining on the forums about this game (but barely complained on the forums themselves). This game was released not thoroughly thought out.

I still play from time to time but I can only take it in small doses. That 700 exp for 70 wheelman assists was the “straw that broke the camels back” and put a negative spin in my mind about this game.

Its called Legendary which is what you play in Matchmaking and thus enemies are buffed up and have stronger everything. Play it on Normal or Heroic and it is completely different, 1 shot to the head, which is what it would do Canon wise as well.

The Halo Sniper Rifle can easily penetrate thick armor and Energy Shields due to the velocity of its rounds and the fact they are massive armor piercing, anti material, rounds.

I got one even better for you OP and I wish SpartOps had theater mode. I was finishing up achievements last night and playing with a buddy on the mission you have to keep at least one Marine alive. I grabbed rocks and proceeded to take out the hunters when my first shot went under and thru the Hunters legs and proceeding flying off into the distance. I was too dumbfounded and got rocked by the other Hunter.

Oh, for a second I thought you played SpOps with bs angel. Anyways, don’t turn on Mythic in Campaign, then. 4 Charged Plasma Pistol Shots to bring down an Elite’s shields. Have fun. They really should have enabled skulls in SpOps.

I am working my way through the Spartan Ops solo legendary & had this issue with the sniper last night.

No biggy though. Saved my ammo from the load outs & used the sniper to bring down the shields then just head shot with DMR.

A long distance DMR/Sniper rifle combo.

Some of these missions are more fun solo.

Ep 9 Chapter 3 with a Scorpion tank most of the mission. Give it a go!

A Marine can take several bolts of superheated plasma to face, survive, and then whine about friendly fire. Its’ obviously not supposed to be realistic.

That’s Legendary. Golds take more but 3 snipes should do it. Prom’s are insta-melee death. They’re tuff. Try to get them to make the first move or get distracted by teammate. Or there is the noob which is essential solo.

> if the Spartan IV’s have more advanced armor than before and the Covenant Remnant only uses their old crappy technology

the spartan armor not only have shield, also increase physical skills of the spartan, the covenant armor always had more shields…anyway it take 3 body-shots and 1 headshot with the sniper to kill an elite warrior.

Gameplay > Canon.
If the game had “realistic” damage settings that fit with the canon, you’d die from 2-3 plasma pistol shots, and most enemies would fall from about 1/2 an AR magazine. Does that sound fun?

*Edit: -Yoink- forums not allowing the use of the “less than” sign.

> Man I got all excited . I thought you were saying BS Angel was in Spartan Ops. Sad face:(

I am sorry about that, but if I was going to talk about BS Angel in Spartan ops the title would have been “BS ANGEL IN Spartan ops”. If I didn’t use the acronym BS, I would of had Yoink in the title and people would wonder what the yoinked word was.

IT is cool, you have a point. Though the remnant covies are basically a rebel group. They are just the ones who remained loyal to the hegemony’s ideals in the wake of Human-Covenant war. Also some of the tech used to advance the MJOLNIR Armor was reverse engineered Covenant tech.

Also to address the others who say it would make the game easier if the weapons would exactly as it should in the canon: That is a good point but, sometimes it impossible to kill a group of Covies without dying once. I mean like Episode 7 chapter 2 I was in a group of four and when we cleared the hangar for the first time the mode of deaths was like 7.
