Brutes

Please 343i bring playable brutes, I think I’ve made a forum post every year since before H4. I get we need playable elites first but I’d love to see the brutes step into the playable realm. That is my TedTalk

that is extremely unlikely given their hitboxes are extremely different then that of a spartan. Elites are at least a similar size

In kinda Invasion mode yes, but looking at it so far, that they say there will be a BTB 2.0 I really don’t think there will be a Invasion 2.0, even if Invasion have a really huge fanbase

It could happen, but I wish that we could play as all races. A trifecta of races: Spartans, Elites, & Brutes would be nice.

I want playable grunts in a party mode based on Fall Guys
Maybe in Forge, wouldn’t it be fun if Forge this time lets us play as any species we want?

Dont forget the grunts.

Already thought of them. Someone had responded to my thread “Multi Species Play” and gave breakdown like this:

  • Spartans: (No Change) - Elites: (No Change) - Brutes: No shield until a higher level, higher health and defense, berserk mode. - Jackals: Disk shields or arm shields (Reach) and sprint, small arms only. - Grunts: No sprint, no shield until higher level, all weapons and vehicles.

I’m really surprised there wasn’t an effort in halo 5 to make the promethean soldiers playable. Since they were new, you could make a few small tweaks to make them comparable to a spartan in MP without it being odd.

Not anymore, 343 era elites are massive compared to spartans

the elites in infinite arent Halo 4 and 5 elites mate

Wow, I’m gonna need you stop crushing my dreams alright? Lol

But for real I’m hoping for invasion SO bad!

Playable Brutes would be weird. They don’t have shields, they’re massive in size, not very agile. I couldn’t imagine a brute grappleshotting across the map…

The elites in the gameplay trailer looked pretty similar to me.

They really don’t. They look more like Halo 2/3 Elites.

In a non-competitive setting (rumored BTB 2.0 mode, or what not) brutes could function. Albeit, they would require a damage reduction given how large their hitbox is in comparison to a Spartan. This could create issues if done incorrectly, but I’m not opposed to the idea, as long as it’s kept out of competitive. I think it would certainly make custom games, or any invasion game mode more interesting.

What? They… they are literally the main force of the storm covenant…

Oh come on, that would look absolutely hilarious! And it would be just as odd to see Elites swinging around everywhere, wouldn’t it? Hey, now that I think about it, it would kind of work for Brutes…they are very similar to apes…you know, Tarzan and all that.

By the way, in Halo 3: ODST, the visual effect when Brute power armour takes damage looks very much like energy shielding. So that could work, maybe.

^this. They’d be able to take more damage and give them the power suit so you can see their shields pop. You could even run something similar to invasion with it if it’s properly set up (according to health/hit box). It should stay out of competitive play unless it’s legitimately perfected or placed as brute v brute.

I think the best situation would be to give brutes a 15% damage reduction. Some people have mentioned that Brutes with a grappling hook would look weird, but honestly, I don’t really care. At worst, its meme material, and besides. No one seemed to care much when a spartan would leap thirty feet to the left, performing a graceful Elite roll in Halo Reach. I just hope the innovate with this game. Giving us not only playable Elites, but playable Brutes would do wonders for custom games. Though, we still don’t know if we’ll be getting playable Elites… which I am somewhat worried about.

The Storm Covenant are gone. They’ve either been killed or absorbed into other organizations, like the Banished.
