Which is better halo 3 brute weapon or halo 4 promethean weapon and what are their advantage and disadvantage?

Tough choice. VERY tough choice. Let’s first analyze them all, then I’ll give my final opinion (variations not included).
Brute weapons:
Mauler
Advantages:

  • Quick Reload; - Dual wieldable; - Close Combat shotgun pistol makes it kind of a threat when your in someone’e face with that weapon.Disadvantages

  • Extremely low range (major); - Can’t kill a Spartan with 1 shot even if it’s right in their face;Spiker
    Advantages:

  • Decent damage; - Quick reload; - Dual wieldable; - Slightly stronger than an Assault Rifle and Plasma Rifle, but of course, weaker than an SMG.Disadvantages:

  • Bullets are Projectile Speed and not Hitscan, meaning it won’t immediately hit your target soon as you pull the trigger; - Slow-Medium rate of fire;Brute Plasma Rifle
    Advantages:

  • Plasma weapon, drops shields very quickly; - Faster rate of fire than it’s blue counterpart; - Dual Wieldable; - Energy weapon, can cool down even when it’s not active.Disadvantages:

  • Faster rate of fire overheats it more quickly; - Energy weapon, have to switch to get more energy (minor)Brute Shot
    Advantages:

  • Explosive rounds; - Fast rate of fire; - Deadly against light vehicles; - 6 shot magazine; - Melee slightly stronger.Disadvantages:

  • Slow reload; - Low reserve ammunition.Gravity Hammer
    Advantages:

  • Extremely deadly; - Sends light vehicles and corpses (including Hunters) flying; - Can divert rockets (and so your able to play baseball lol); - Cool af weapon; - Can kill 50 Spartans in total (wastes 5% per strike)Disadvantages:

  • Melee weapon (minor).Promethen Weapons:
    Boltshot:
    Advantages:

  • 3 round burst pistol; - Good against flesh and ok against shields; - Quick reload; - Damage and spread are not affected with distance;Past advantages:

  • Pocket shotgun pistol capable of killing a Spartan in 1 shot.Disadvantges:

Past disadvantges:

  • A full magazine could not kill a Spartan even if aiming at the head; - The pocket shotgun’s range is incredibly low, can kill a Spartan almost only at melee range.Suppressor:
    Advantages:

  • Quick reload; - Good damage; - Good magazine size;Past Advantages:

Disadvantages:

  • Projectile Speed weapon, not Hitscan.Past Disadvantages:

  • Spread and damage make it a unreliable weapon.Lightrifle

  • Good rate of rife; - Good damage; - Good magazine size; - Smart-Link gives more damage to each shot.Past advantages:

  • Smart-Link lowers the rate of fire (minor).Past disadvantages:

Scattershot
Advantages:

  • Shots bounce off walls and hits close targets; - User can interrupt reloading;Past advantages:

Disadvantages:

  • Reloads magazine one by one instead of all at once.Past disadvantages:

Binary Rifle:
Advantages:

  • Great damage against everything; - Sniper weapon allows to kill at long ranges; - Fast rate of fire.Past advantages:

  • Can kill targets in 1-shot.Disadvantages:

  • Beam doesn’t kill the target right away; - Smart-Link/Zoom fires a harmless laser, giving away your position. - 2-round magazine.Past disadvantages:

Inceneration Cannon
Advantages:

  • Energy weapon, uses 5% per shot; - Deadly against everything; - Can charge up and unleash a even deadlier shot; - Quick cool down.Past advantages:

  • Capable to destroying even tanks in 1-shot (still not tested in Halo 5, have to some day)Disadvantages:

  • 2 bursts overheat the weapon; - Firing a charged shot overheats the weapon.Past disadvantages:

  • Has to reload after each shot; - Long reload.Final opinion:
    I love the brute weapons (especially the Gravity Hammer), but I have to give the point to the Promethen weapons. They are just more powerful, have a rocket launcher, sniper rifle, an actual shotgun and main rifle.
    PS: I also added advantages and disadvanteges of the weapons in Halo 5. The Gravity Hammer however, looks to remain the same like in Halo 3, Halo Reach and Halo 4.
    Past advantages and disadvantages are refering to Halo 4’s weapons.

PPS: If advantages or disadvantages are blank it’s because I could’d find any of these.

It’s a Bit Sad that the Gravity Hammer is the Only Surviving of the Brutes Weapons

I think Brute weapons are more fun to use.

Brutes don’t have their own sniper gun. They use jackals. The prometheans have the binary rifle. The prometheans have more weapons and they look better but the gravity hammer was good.

I do like the binary rifle and I think it sucks the brutes don’t have something similar; however, the very existence of the gravity hammer alone is enough to win this contest for me. Aside from the aforementioned, the only other Promethean weapon I care for is the Heart seeker. I also love the brute shot and would prefer spikers over suppressors so…brute weapons?

So is the gravity hammer is their only useful weapon to bring to the table.
