Because the covenant in halo 4 seem to have elite made weapons, it is only safe to assume that the concussion rifle is coming back instead of the brute shot. Another reason the brute shot probably won’t return is that after the fall of the covenant, most of them are either serving the Elites or have returne to their nomadic way of life and therefore will be a very minor presence in halo 4(if any at all).
I like the Elite guys more than the Brute guys.
The Brute Shot was one of my favorite weapons in Halo. It was awesome against vehicles and great against players with its blade melee. I’ll be sad if it’s gone for good.
what I don’t understand is that the elites were cut out from the covenant and now they appear to be back in. anyways I hope the brute shot returns in the halo 2 form where it would bounce before exploding.
Im fine with the absence of the brutes. I was never the biggest fan of them or their weapons. Mauler was weird, spiker didn’t do much, and the hammer and brute show were to only two good ones.

I dont think they are the covenant-covenant, but a splinter faction that wants to bring the covenant back(OF which the Arbiter probably isnt involved with and is probably fighting as well).

At this point I don’t see it coming into play although I liked it maybe we will see a newer version of it in Halo 4

I’m going to guess that the concussion rifle will make a return, only because in some of the Spartan Ops gameplay you can see that the phantoms still use the concussion shots. This could indicate the return of the concussion rifle. I do hope though that brute weaponry comes back, I miss the chopper…

The gravity hammer is most likely the only one that will return. Brute vehicles are very unlikely to return, I would be very surprised if it did.
I am aware of how unlikely it is that the brute shot will return, BUT I love the gun more than any other in any other game ever! besides the fact that it doesn’t totally fit I see no reason that it would be a bad idea. The concussion rifle sucked and looked limited, it was like a spit in my face. take away the sexiest looking gun and give a hot dog that shoots plasma. no thank-you, nothing could make me happier at this point (the game is looking awesome) than if they surprise us all and give us back the brute shot.
no Brutes this time man, theya re my 2nd favorite Race, but yeah. only these covie rebels, and maybe thel’s Elites in the story
Brute shot is a fan favorite for a good reason. Just the sight of it in H3 calms me down if I’m not too distracted.
As for concussion rifle, I liked the aesthetics and 2x max ammo from Brute Shot but I was not pleased with the huge splash damage and how easy it is to spam it. There’s also the damage inconsistency in campaign (enemies do overwhelming damage while it takes me an entire clip to lay waste to a few Jackals).

I’m officially perturbed.
The dropships in Reach were extremely annoying and broke my concentration. I’d prefer weaker turrets for dropships (that includes the Pelican).
Dropships with perfect aim, huge firing range, and op guns ruin the fun. They should be the least concern. Instead, I found my setups ruined because of them and most of my deaths were from dropships. Every minute on LNoS is a heart attack inducing cluster–Yoink-.
While there are no Brutes in this game, seeing as it’s a simulation on a ship and not real life and humanity has just finished fighting the Brutes (Halo 3) Wouldn’t it make the most sense to have people train with the weapons they were just fighting against? It doesn’t matter that the Brutes aren’t in the game because it’s just a simulation in MP.
If the Brutes do come back (which I highly doubt they will) I hope they are the model from Halo 2. As the Headhunters stated “g’ators I can handle. They are smart, so they predictable.” Brutes on the other hand are violent and unpredictable which makes them much more fun to kill.
