Which unit do you prefer: Colony’s Goliath or Yap Yap’s Brute Rider?
I haven’t played Colony since the first week, but these two units seem to basically mirror each other. Melee tanks that both have charging Y attack. Is there much reason to prefer one over the other?
HP = Health
SP = Speed
BT = BuildTime
P = Population
S = Supplys
E = Energy
Brute Rider HP 3700 SP 12 BT 16 P 3 S 110 E 60
Goliath HP 10000 SP 12 BT 20 P 5 S 150 E 80
(There damage multiplier is the same x2)
Goliath seem to be better with the masive HP difference but they’re slightly slower to amass and cost slightly more resources.

I prefer the Goliath over the BruteRider but i admit its much harder to rush and transition to your mid game with colony after a rush because of the lack of Cannon Fodder

Yap yap who can make it seamlessly into his mid game without much of a handicap.
I prefer neither. I was never a big fan of anti-building units.

Great post but keep in mind that the HP stat you have their is per single brute rider, not for the entire squad. I believe there are two brutes per squad so that puts their “squad HP” at 7400. That’s still quite a bit less than the Goliath but I think the other stats make up for it. They have 26% less HP but they build 20% faster, they cost 27/25% less, and take up 40% less pop, so you can build more of them for a similar cost in price and build time. If they truly have the same damage output then the Brute Riders seem like the better unit. That pop difference in particular means having more building killers with you while still having pop left over for other units. That’s probably their biggest upside.

I’d like to see the multipliers though for the building damage as I could swear Goliaths take a base down much faster than Brute Riders.

Nice bbreakdown of the numbers and yes you’re right about the stats reflecting only a single unit of the squad.
With that in perspective i can see the BruteRider being a much better rush unit, although I’ve already admitted this for other reasons, this just puts the nail in the coffin for any future debates between the two units.

The base damage for Goliaths is most likely higher, they both probably use the same multiplier for building damage.
The Goliaths might also have heavier armour, I won’t know for sure until I can see the stats again (which isn’t likely).
If you lose 1 Brute Rider you also lose half your damage output.

They both have the same Damage muiltiplier of x2 towards building unfortunately the exact damage of the
Goliath and BruteRider are currently unknown.

No worries it’s a good post was just really saying my thought at the time.
