Brute plasma rifle

The brutes plasma rifle was in halo 2 for the brutes same as ODST but it’s gone in Halo 3 what happen to it. I check the lore for the brute plasma rifle and it say nothing about the brute plasma rifle. The brute plasma rifle does returned in halo 5 and the description say that brute plasma rifle was found after Covenant war and sold in the black market. My theory is that most of the brute plasma was in high charity during the flood take over and was lost with the rest of the weapons and ships but that were my theory ends. Sorry for any misspelled words. This is just my opinion please share your opinion too.

I think Bungie decided to cut it out of the sandbox for H3 due to the spiker replacing it as the “standard” brute weapon. Lore wise the covenant probably didn’t distribute it much during the events of Halo 3 again due to the spiker.

That make sense on the spiker replacing the brute plasma rifle. Thanks for sharing your opinion and have a good day.

Well, in all honesty, the Brute Plasma Rifle wasn’t even supposed to be in Halo 2. It was added for the sake of symbolism: “Jiralhanae are taking over what once belonged to the Sangheili”. A weapon with similar descriptions to the Spiker was supposed to appear instead, but just like the Juggernaut form, 3 entire missions, an entire script and High Charity’s Warthog Run, it was cut.

It’s mentioned in the Essential Visual Guide that the Brute Plasma Rifle was created by the Sacred Promissory, not the Assembly Forges, for the express purpose of arming the Brutes in preparation for their overthrow of the Elites. So my thoughts on this are that the Sacred Promissory is a secondary manufacturer with less resources than the Assembly Forges. Therefore, they couldn’t make a massive quantity of Brute Plasma Rifles.

Another issue is that it’s a very sleek and elegant weapon, which is the exact opposite of Brute culture. The Spiker falls more in line with the Brute aesthetic, so the Brutes likely abandoned the Elite-style weapon for something a bit more Brutish.

Does the Brute Plasma Rifle behave differently in Halo 3: ODST than it does in Halo 3? Or is it just a red recolor?

It’s just really a recolor. It’s RoF and damage are the same as the blue PR.

i believe the brutes should not have the plasma rifles those weapons were given to the sanghelio first and the brutes do not deserve them if your wondering or hating on me for hating butes i just believe the brutes are not fit to have them they lose there temper easily they dont have any form of stealth besides in halo 3,there very clumsy and have abslolutley almost no honor hense the name brute and most are as dumb as rocks ,they should stay the sanghelios weapons.

Brute missions are my favorite across the series, there is something about them that really rubs me wrong. From Crow’s Nest, Exodus, all of ODST, Halo Wars 2, and a few from Halo 2, fighting brutes is so enjoyable.

Yet, in contrary, they also interest me outside the games. I guess I’m trying to figure out what makes an upright, short-tempered, clannish gorilla a viable space enemy. The visuals of the brute shot and spiker are really imposing, the spiker being illustrated well in Landfall.

Personally, I’m glad the brute plasma rifle went away.

Cheers,
Brad

I think the the brute plasma rifle has a unique and interesting part in the sandbox. I would like to see it return just for game-play purposes. I think it could use a redesign.
Here is a pic with a potential redesign. The Banished - Weapons. by CommanderNova702 on DeviantArt
