I am losing brain cells… OH nooo. It… it… IT…

Y no brutes in teh Halo 4. O wait. Dey purty much al da deaded.

> Y do everyone fine Brutes annoying

I don’t.

I’m not sure what the point of this is.

> I’m not sure what the point of this is.

Or the relevance it has to Halo 4, since there are no Brutes in the game.

They weren’t interesting to fight.

They were in Halo 2.

> They weren’t interesting to fight.

They were interesting in H2 because they actually worked in packs where they could function as a pack like they’re supposed to. Unfortunately, in H3/ODST they just ended up as cheap replacements for the elites, even wearing basically the same armor and working outside of the pack structure.

Agreed. In Halo 2 they were unpredictable and really tough to kill when on rampage. Also typically headshots didn’t work on them forcing the player to find new strategies to kill them.

It was actually pretty easy to headshot them even on legendary as long as you had the carbine

I like Brutes- but in comparison to Elites I always find them sub-par.

Halo 2: I like this iteration of them best in terms of how they fight, they aren’t too great w/ anything beside the Brute Shot but when they go berserk they are truly a force to reckon with.

Halo 3: I like how the Cheiftans looked best in this one, I also liked the addition of Spec-Ops Brutes and Jet-pack Brutes. I felt the different class-types made them more variable from their original iteration in a good way.

Reach: I like the armor design best in this game for the regular Brutes, but they feel like a downgrade from both their previous versions. I get why as they are not a main enemy like the Elites and are probably meant to be more comparable to the lesser covies like the Skirmishers and such, but eh.

If they ever brought the Brutes back- make them look more like their original versions w/ the gritty Reach esq armor- make the “Minors” and “Majors” Fight like lesser versions of the Halo 2 Brutes and have the regular Cheiftans fight like the berserk H2 Brutes. Bring back the Jet-pack Brutes and make the War Cheiftans (Fule-Rod wielding ones) as deadly accurate as their ODST/H3 versions.

They were never interesting to begin with. They were just barely tolerable in Halo 2.

It was only a matter of time before people realized that only the last remaining Brute berserked, so it was easy to prepare.

There were very few instances where multiple Brutes are found berserking (like when the 2 Brutes are attacking the terrified Grunts and before you catch up with Tartarus).

And it actually worked. They had upgrades that would have made fighting Elites more interesting, like 1) a better berserking charge pattern (fast weaving) 2) a jump attack (pretty damn brutal on Legendary in Halo 3) 3) diving from plasma overcharges 4) deploying and using equipment (ODST improved this) 5) increased awareness (noticing their dead, more harder to sneak up on them).

It’s just that they were too slow.

The Elites in Reach had the same old berserk charging, the same old inability to reach heights, the same old inability to anticipate plasma overcharges, only used Armor Lock, and were blind and didn’t notice the recently killed allies they were stepping on.

They were predictable. They were just very fast.

Headshots did work on them, and still works on SLASO.

When I was ‘but a lad’ and couldn’t hit -Yoink- I loved fighting Brutes. I spent ages aligning the beam rifle for the perfect headshot only to fire and the helmet fly off! It may not be as much of a challenge for me now but as a noob there was nothing more exciting than taking on a pack of brutes. I still am afraid of them now when they go on rampage.

I never used the beam rifle against them except in the prison room on Uprising.

It turns out it’s faster to just shoot the helmet off with the Carbine.

Only reason I don’t go close to them when they’re berserking is because they’re so fast, disrupting my lunge (excluding the sword. That always lands).

If brutes were in halo 4 the Prometheans would just one shot them with scatter shots till their race dies and brutes are just annoying cuz they’re so easy to kill and their screaming was pointless i didn’t like it

Brutes are just really pissed of Elites. That kind of look like monkeys.

Brutes are just big and angry Elites. When it comes down to it…

> Brutes are just really pissed of Elites. That kind of look like monkeys.

Not in Halo2.
