BR's Are Aweful

When 343i implemented BR starts I noticed a common trend, with the shift to more mid-long range combat, thrusters shined as a ‘get out of death free’ card with no penalties to use this ability unlike sprint, which can’t even be used when you’re being shot at.

Additionally, the BR’s have virtually no aim assist, which makes using them not fun, each engagement I find myself in ends into a desperation of trying to hit them in the face. I can take out their shields easily. But the final shot to the head is terribly hard after they’ve used thrusters, BR’s are bad weapons for close range. Historically they’ve been a good jack-of-all-trades weapon, and that was very good, especially now considering AR’s and SMG’s completely destroy people in close range.

Read no further than that. The guy admits he hates BRs because they are “Hard” to use.

Dude Halo 5 has the most aim assist of any halo game. The BR is extremely easy to use. Try lowering your sensitivty if you have trouble with headshots. I play on 2 and have around a 3.0k/d.

Don’t ask for the game to change just because you are bad at a certain aspect of it

I have played every single Halo game to date. And I’ve been an avid user of the BR, I’ve preferred BR starts. But this game, the BR is not fun to use. It barely competes with SMG/AR’s, and if you do get a few shots on someone they thrust to safety. When you use an AR against a close target and they use a thruster it’s very easy to track your target, but in the same scenario with a BR it’s very difficult and allows them to easily escape a dangerous situation.

> Dude Halo 5 has the most aim assist of any halo game

You clearly have a short memory or have never played Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Reach or Halo 4. The pros even said the BR has virtually no aim assist in this game.

Lol don’t worry about UNSCxSniper, he just goes on every BR post (whether the post is for it or against it) just go be a toxic jerk to somebody. He doesn’t even argue rationally and pulls statistics out of his -Yoink!-.

The only thing I dislike about the H5 BR is the ADS but thats a flaw/Feature of the game itself and has nothing to do with the weapon itself. Other than that the BR is just fine in my book. People can thrust away from all the other weapons just as easily and I’d much rather spawn with mid-long range weapon on their large maps than a dinky SMG/AR and be forced to embark on a wild spartan chase hunting sprinters/thrusters as they parkour across the map!

Yeah, they are aiming to please the pro players, the whole 100 of them. They should learn from fighting games, the more “pro” oriented you go, the less population your game has.

Ok so uhhhh DONT USE THE BR IN CQB? Ya know use a CQB weapon in that scenario

LOL I have been playing halo for over a decade. The aim assist in this game is off the charts. "Perfect kills’ or 4 shots are easier than ever before with the BR. If you are having trouble then it doesn’t mean the aim assist is low it means your aim is bad

LMFAO Right because its not like the most compeititve halo games, or pro as you like to call them, were the most popular or anything. Halo CE, 2, and 3 are the most PRO Compeititve whatever you want to call it halos so far and they had the biggest Halo fanbases/populations.

Halo 4 on the other hadn was the most causal/least pro catered game in the series and it FAILED because of it
You guys are wrong plain and simple.

Halo’s popularity was built of regular joes like you and me. In fact most of us were kids and teens when Halo showed up, just wanted to have some crazy fun with friend and pizza, not thinking about winning 50k dollars in prize for a championship. Do you think these guys who work at IGN, Gamespot and other media outlets who love Halo were pros back in the day? not a chance. Pro’s are always in the minority, whatever the game is.

It is simple:

Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo3= Compeititve most “Pro catered” halo games.

Halo 4= Casual “Fun least pro catred” game.

Compeititve Halo games are successes while the casual ones are not.The first 3 thrusted halo into the spotlight and made it one of the most played games of all time. Halo 4 is killing all of that. Like really the proof is in the pudding I have no idea why you are still trying to speak your false point

Why do people say halo 4 failed? It broke sales records and preorders for the franchise. Yes the pop drop quick but that’s more of a longevity issue. Which had to do with ranking, playlist, campaign length, new game releases, achievements. Halo 4 could’ve had a classic playlist with no sprint which would’ve help but it’s pop wouldve still drop quicker than past halos.

Halo 4 multiplayer failed. People bought the game based on 343’s lies. 343/Microsoft kept harping about how halo was returning to its roots and after Halo reach people wanted that so we bought it. Then we realized it was a lie and everyone quit. Playlists, perks, care packages, HORRIBLE MAPS, HORRIBLE PLAYLISTS. NO VISIBLE 1-50, loadouts, etc is what made halo 4 a failure. I mean the game is like 2 1/2 years old and its population is below 10k. Halo 3 and halo 2 had a HUGE population for years

What!
I feel that the BR is pretty easy to get used to. I can kill anyone if they use thruster, jump, run, etc. For me its really easy to use.

The br in this game is not that hard to use because strafing is a shell of it’s former self. Just practice and take your beatings until you get better. Nobody starts off perfect with all the weapons, it takes time and effort. I’m getting tired of this attitude where games need to be easy and require very little effort to be good.

the least actually.
But yeah, brs are easy to use, which is why BR starts suck

343 Went from one extreme to the opposite. Halo 4 had a disgusting amount of aim assist and even more magnetism, I feel we need something in the middle. Halo 3 was a well rounded weapon balance IMO. The weapons had a decent amount of aim assist but the magnetism was relatively low.

I personally found it much easier to track my target with an AR while they thrusted as opposed to using a BR on the same target, but that’s my experience so far.

Are we playing the same game?

Although the Br is super easy to use …

The pistol outclasses it with a decent range. Im ownin kids like no other. Got kids switching to the pistol after they watch my kill cams.

Your solution hinges on that there is an AR or SMG on the map at the time I want it, which is ridiculous to expect at any given time. Overall my problems with the BR relate to both the lack of Aim Assist compared to past Halo games, and the use of thrusters, which completely change the combat dynamic in many circumstances.

Sprint has sufficiently been nerfed but thrusters is the new sprint ‘get out of free’ card. Adding all this together muddies my experience in this game and leaves me feeling ripped off when I get a perfect 3 shot on the enemy to drop their shields only to see them thrust and run away.
