I think the Halo community including myself, should put the soul in peace 'cause we’ll never see the server select browser in Halo 5.
Imho, the ranking system for how it works now, is the reason of why this functionality will never be implemented in Halo 5, it would in fact completely revised by 343i forcing them to admit that they were wrong to analyze the system matchmaking and the ranking system.

I absolutely despise having server browsers in games like what Battlefield has. That is my only real complaint about BF. I certainly don’t want it in Halo. But I do agree that rank and matchmaking could be improved. But in fact it will only get worse as the population shrinks. expect it to shrink some more this weekend as Gears Launches tomorrow. I certainly won’t be playing Halo for a while. It will be Gears until BF is launched and then BF and Gears for the foreseeable future.
I think server browser would be the only possibility to reduce latency and gives players the choice between a quick matchmaking with more latency and a slow matchmaking with low latency that imho wil be my best.

I’d rather they fix and improve the quality / quantity of servers. If they cant manage the current state what hope do they have later on. Server browsers dont fit Halo i think. Mainly cause we have very small lobbies compared to games like Battlefield since they can fit 64 while ours barely can work on 24
When I use to play bf4 I loved the server browser. You could hope into a game you wanted to play. Now the ranked matches in bf never have seemed very ranked to me. For one there is no visible rank other than exp rank which means nothing. So I think it would be good for halo as far as custom games go. As far as ranked goes in needs to be match making always.

I have been PC gamer since 1998. There us no way in hell I would play a multiplayer online game without a server browser. That is why I don’t play Halo 5 Forge For Windows 10 for PC However, for now I will play around with Forge only until they do come out with a server browser. Hell, even Halo Combat Evolved and Halo Online have a server browser.
I don’t play the following…
- Will not Play any game on a console and never will PERIOD!
- I don’t play campaigns.
- I don’t do game stats… Could care less about stats.
- I don’t play any matchmaking games. Could care less.
- I could care less about ranks. Could care less about it.
Just to name a few. I play games for the end result only. Winning the game only. I could care less about the rest. I play to have fun with the game that’s it Nothing More!

So all you do in Halo is play Forge and custom games? Just curious, and you say you only play to “win”, how do you win if you don’t at least play the campaign? It is very confusing. You say you won’t play a console game, but clearly you have a console to play Forge, since you won’t play it on your PC.
Anyway, server browsers are not needed in my opinion. I am able to find games fast enough with lag only here and there.

I did not play the campaigns in Tribes 1-3 or Halo 1, Halo 2 or BF1-4 Or UT1-3 and other game. I had no problems not play’n any campaigns? Why do I need too?. I don’t play games against a computer. I need the human element. So like I said it would be a cold day in hell before I ever buy a console machine. I’d rather watch paint dry then spend money on a console machine. I am a 100% PC user and always will be. I play to win the game if I can. That’s it.

Logically speaking, Why do I need a console machine to play any online games when I can do that same thing on my PC. Not logical to me. I don’t need two different devices to play games online.

That’s great you are a PC gamer. I find it interesting you come onto the forums of a console game to give no real feedback on the subject at hand. That is definitely not logical to me. And given your previous quotes it seems your PC only mentality does not lend itself to ability to explain oneself very well.
Yes, I have only played on a console. I stopped playing computer games back when I had a Macintosh and I haven’t looked back. Nothing wrong with that. It seems to me Halo 5 doesn’t have a large enough population to start splitting it up by using browser servers.

Why? You despise being able to choose the closest server to you? I never have lag in BF because I can choose my server. I can pick what map/mode I want to play and not have to sit through H5’s horrible map rotation just to play a map I like.

I read that you don’t like Matchmaking, which is fine. A server browser would be best for customs so you can play your favorite flavor or madness. For a competitive match-up, however, I feel as though not having any players know what the map is until its loaded (AKA Matchmaking) is best.
Basically, server browser for customs only plz.
I dont want a server browser to replace matchmaking. I want a custom game browser in MCC, Halo 5, and future Halo games.
