Out of curiosity I opened a bronze pack. I received a mongoose certification, assorted mongooses, speed boost 1, common random weapon. Learn from my mistake don’t waste your hard earned points on bronze packs.
I read the description of a bronze pack and never bought one. Since then, I’ve advised every friend I know (that plays Halo) to skip bronze packs and go directly to silver packs.
[BRONZE]
What did you expect, a Nornfang?

We’re you missing a mongoose? Lol
Yes, buy bronze packs, then silver, and finally gold packs.

Silver is by far better, at least you are going to get something in them.
Less RNG then bronze if you ask me, but still RNG.
i did bronze then silver and now working on golds.
I would suggest only getting Silver if your starting off, they don’t cost to much and you get 2 permanent unlocks, instead of only a chance with bronze.

You got me. I was not actually at 100%, I am missing some Commons.

Only 1? I was expecting to find like “I opened 50 bronze packs, recorded each item received in each pack and here’s the data. I can now confirm bronze packs are contain garbage.”
And before the REQ rebalance, I did do that that I described above (with ~130 bronze packs) and it came out to 47% of bronze packs include 1 common unlock. So, as silver packs only unlock 2 as well and bronze packs cost 4 times … if you get all your common unlocks through silver instead of grinding through bronze packs…it will cost you ~150,000 RP more, equivalent to 30 silver packs (60 uncommon-rare unlocks).
I’m not sure how it works now (as I’ve cleared out all commons and un-commons and nearly all rares…soon onto gold!) but I’d wager it holds the same. As an aside, I’ve gotta hand it to 343 on the new handling of emblems. Emblems are actually exciting to get now.
Edit: |||SURGE||| correctly reminded me that commons only have 1 unlock, not two( it’s been so long). Numbers have been adjusted to match this.

Then he didn’t go for silvers, there is still no reason to be rude.
Thanks Spartans I enjoyed all of your replies. Good community. I have everything except the achilles helmet and common certs. It was as the post says just curiosity.

I’m just playing with him, not trying to be rude over something so trivial.
I apologize if it came off to you that way. Just for future reference though, lol in my posts means it’s more of a joke then anything.

This is incorrect on at least two points.
-
bronze packs have never contained two unlocks. Rather, there’s a “chance” of a single unlock. That said, 47% is very generous/lucky for the bronze packs, but assuming that is true, then there’s about a 50% chance of getting a single unlock in each pack. Or a statistically significant chance of possibly getting two unlocks in every 4 packs. In other words, the odds of getting two unlocks is the same as silver, and the same cost as silver, but you are restricted to common unlocks only. Additionally, it’s the only pack that contains mongoose certifications, so by starting bronze you will inherently water down your silvers later.
-
your numbers relating to RP cost of silver packs appear to only reflect how much it will cost to get exclusively common unlocks, and does not consider that you’re going to get unlocks that are also uncommon and rare.

Excellent points. After seeing what was in one pack no way I was going to waste more points. Gold costs me 4k rp, and silver 2k.
Bronze packs have always been trashy.

We’re in the same boat then. Having completed golds.
So this is gonna sound weird when I say… NOW is the time to go open bronze! Gold packs do not contain common REQs, so going back to bronze is a great way to restock on some of those valuable and underrated REQs! At least that’s what I did, and it was wonderful to pull some carbines, chaingun turrets, lvl1 speed boosts, and standard rail guns.
