Are you playing the new 2v2X playlist?
The levels don’t mean much, they do not have anything to do with rank or skill. Also I am confused as to what the issue is, you mention plat 4 and diamond 6 (which while not super close are still close) and then mention slivers. So are you going against higher ranked players? Is your teammates getting a different rank than you?
I just got placement in ranked 2v2 with my friend and we somehow managed to win 10/10 placement matches without dropping or disconnecting in a match. After all that fighting we only placed in Diamond 1 even though we couldn’t win anymore matches. I too am curious to how this placement works, and we did verse very tough opponents include high level players and already ranked platinum bois.

The reason is that it’s a new playlist so there is no established hidden MMR which doesn’t get reset. My mate and I also won all of our placement matches and were placed Platinum 6. That’s a looong climb to champion, especially when you consider that matchmaking isn’t actually working and we are getting matched with at least 80% low ranked teams which give 2 - 4% in case of winning but loose us like 80% when there is a technical problem.

Nothing needs to be fixed besides your brain. Your placement is based off of your hidden MMR which caries over from season to season (unless a new playlist is created… for example the new 2v2 playlist).

Then why have placement matches at all and have random plat diamond onyx just have MMR numbers and be done with it.
Definitely broken or simply retarded way of structuring MMR, either way it’s dumb.

The current system is not perfect but it is not dumb and completely useless.

The placement matches are just a means to hide the systems uncertainty about your player skill.
The developers simply expected that 10 matches would be enough for your MMR to converge to your “real” MMR.
That assumption might not hold in Halo Wars at the moment for several reasons (population, team skill, mmr resets) but that’s a different story.
(Wrensi seems to be aware of the issue and we expect an update from him later this season)
Apart from that, you need a (hidden) MMR next to the CSR. It’s easier to tell the user that he gained 10 points than that his rank increased by 0.01382.

We all were plat 3 the season before so it’s nothing to do with past MMR
