Broken MCC installation

Hello

I moved MCC from internal disk to external (with windows move button). This worked fine. But the game starts to crash often. So I moved it back. Now nothing works anymore. I can install (via MS Store) MCC but i cant install reach or ce. So I cant play the game anymore. Everytime I try to download reach or ce, I got the very cool error Code: 0x80070003. Since hours, I tried to solve this issue with plenty of advices to this error in general, an specific in combination with mcc. Nothin worked. Might it be, that I havent completely uninstalled mcc? I did uninstall it. I deleted folders in windows.apps folder. Now, I have no idea what i could do more. So its time for mental support. Every answer (except to reinstall windows) is very welcome. Thanks

Dang, that seems odd even after uninstalling it and downloading it again, but that’s one reason I much prefer it being on Steam and that’s why some want Halo Wars 2 on Steam. I sure hope Infinite is on Steam as well

Hmm, looks like you have a real problem on your hands. Generally as a rule of thumb it is not a good idea to move files around from the original install location. Here’s what you could try. Uninstall the MCC again, make sure it is completely gone. After it is uninstalled, clean out your registry with a program such as CCleaner (that’s the one id recommend). Also use CCleaner to clean up temporary files. Then reinstall the MCC and see if the game is operational.

Another option is a system restore back to a date where the MCC was working fine, but that does not have a 100% cure rate. It is just a last ditch effort that could be tried if all else fails.

Thanks MikeAlphaBravo for your answer. I removed halo completely and downloaded as you mentioned the CCleaner. It didnt solve my problem, but it changed it at least. Now, when I press the download button in ms store, a window pops up and says, that there is a problem and i should try it later. But only for the MCC. When I try to install something else, it works
I dont know, slowly I start to accept the thought, that I have to reset windows. Whish me luck.

Try Win+R (Run command) and entering: wsreset

Thanks lightsup55. I tried your way several times and it didnt work for me. BUT! I “solved” it! I tried many things to awoid reinstall windows and in one forum (sry I forgot which it was), there was a guy and said:“create a new user account with admin rights”. I did that and in my new “gaming account” on my PC, I could properly reinstall Halo MCC, and reach and ce. And everything works fine again. I learnd, never mess around with a runing software (on windows). Maybe this “solution” helps someone else, I hope so. Thanks
