off and on i have been having this same problem and at first i thought it was my PC but i keep getting stuck in this type of offline i dont own the game bug on the windows store having gamepass. im not sure if this is apart of the problem or if steam members are also running into this deal as we… I try to play single player and i get a pop up that says try that again somthing happened on our end waiting a bit might help. I dont know how many times i have reset the store reinstalled this game and whatever i have tied the log off and log back on to xbox on my pc updated everything and even to the point uninstalling eveytihing and reinstalling it but when i did the last windows update it seems to have broken the game to the point i can’t do anything and when i click online play it says getting latest data and if i go into settings it says xbox live n/a all fire wall settings are off and everything else works fine just MCC taken a big -Yoink- and im seeing more and more of this with people and no reply i pay for gamepass so i could play halo on the PC but this is just crazy for how many problems im seeing and the gearbox copy worked fine other than no online servers for online play anymore.
any ideas how to fix this that i have not tried to do. im very much let down by these problems and no end in site to this being fix.
Encountered this issue with my MS Store build a while ago and managed to get it fixed. In my case, those are the steps I took to solve it:
- Reset Gaming Services. Go to Settings > Apps > Search for “Gaming Services” > Reset/Repair - Try to fix Xbox Live for Windows 10. Go to Settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking. From there, check if all status is green and, if not, select “Fix it”. - Try to log out and back in to your Xbox/Microsoft account through the Xbox companion app. - Reset/repair MCC. Launch your start menu and scroll down till your find MCC. Right-click the item to open the context menu and go to More > App settings. From there, either select repair or reset.

Yes I had the exact same happened to me so I first tried download the game it completely crashed Microsoft store I have a high end laptop so hard ware is not the issue… I had to contact Microsoft because after that nothing would update at all kept giving me a error code the tech remote accessed my laptop to try and fix it like wth I love halo but got cheated lol
It is very frustrating. My game was completely gone. I tried many ideas from several forums. Then I was able to work around with creating a new administrator profile on my laptop and reinstall the game. Then the next windows update came and nothing worked anymore. I reset windows on my computer. Reinstalled the game. That worked until today. Next windows update, noting workes anymore. I cant find the game on my pc, but it is still installed because of the space wich is still used. I can not uninstall because windows says it is not installed, and i can not reinstall it because there is not enough space left, because it is used by mcc 
confused? I am. I really like to play the game but in the meantime i spent so much energie with these problems, i dont know if i really should try another time to fix it.
