Broken Game Mechanics

How is it reasonable for me to boost a ghost or drive a warthog at full speed into an enemy spartan and they survive, I know for a fact they were not running advanced shielding, yet when I jump on top of a moving scorpion I get splattered. Also I’m tired of the toenail on my big toe catching the top of a ghost or warthog and getting splattered. None of the physics behind splattering make sense and are at best completely random and at worst, totally broken.

Also, since when does a grenade that explodes on the other side of a wall, kill me through the wall? Last time I checked, explosions on the other side of a wall in a Halo game were not supposed to cause a modicum of damage to your spartan. Say for example on the map Empire, if I am on the stairs up to one of the SMG platforms and a grenade explodes in the room under the platform, logic states that I should not take damage, yet Halo 5 logic dictates that I take 3/4 grenade damage and am also blasted up the stairs onto the plat and killed with 2 magnum shots.

What thoughts do the dwellers of the Forums here have on these things? I know I’m probably exaggerating a little bit but emotion filled typing is the result of this so judge away.

thank 343s completely idiotic decision to tie the game physics into the games engine so they cant just go in and fix it

Don’t forget that a Teammate tapping you with the edge of a Scorpion instantly splatters you too.

Those are Halo 1 mechanics you’re talking about. Show some respect.

Halo 1 mechanics or not, they should still be consistent and semilogical. Last time I checked humanity hasn’t drastically had changes in our logics or physics since 2001. So that would mean that the Halo 1 mechanics were broken and not as holy as what you make them out to be, no offense intended but some will undoubtedly be taken, such is the way of the forums.

Hey, I don’t like the splattering mechanics either, but generally the idea is “original trilogy or die” with some people on these forums… Thought I might try to appease the incoming salt.

That was just a one time thing probably, I splatter people all the time just fine.

How do you know for sure that they didn’t have advanced shielding?

the games not perfect still fun to play though even when it is raining salt

Because, since I have a full keyboard plugged into my xbox I have a tendency that whenever such a thing happens I message them asking if they have advanced shielding equipped.

While it is not a 1 time occurrence, I have noticed things like spartans running away from me are more likely to survive, but even so the difference in speed between a sprinting spartan and a full speed ghost or warthog is still more than the speed of a scorpion.
