I know i’m not the only one that feels this way, and i’m also sure there are people that won’t agree with me, but this new so called “Skill Based” ranking system is so flawed and broken and here are my reasons…
-
The way they have it is 2 different slots, one being based on wins and the other based on individual score. In a Team based game it should be based on winning and you should go up fasted when you play well, FFA is the only thing that should be on an Individual bases.
-
The way the system is set, it puts you against your teammates, and punnishes you for playing with a good team. You can all win the game, but if one of your teammates takes most of the kills and therefore get’s most of the points he goes up and you don’t. If you put forth the effort to win the game you need to be rewarded with a rank up plain and simple.
-
Why is it that when you have a good game with this system you don’t go up, but if you have a bad game you go up, and even times when you play great and rank down??? there shouldn’t be a double standard. If I score 300 or 400 points or lead the lobby in score for the game in these individual based playlists I should go up, or if I play well I should go up, not stay where I am or go down, that makes no sense.
-
In the playlists that are based on winning, why does it take so many wins to go up once. me and my friends went on a 9-10 game winning streak in Grifball and they both went up and I stayed a 1 for 8 games straight durring that winning streak. there needs to be more consistency within the system. This is suppose to be the easiest ones to rank up in because it’s the way every playlist should be minus FFA. If I win a game I should go up no questions asked, and if I lose I should go down no questions asked.
I know this won’t get any attention and things probably won’t change but I just wanted to address this system. I’ve been a huge Halo fan since Halo 3, i’ve invested much money over the years through map packs, and hours of time playing it and waiting on a good ranked system like Halo 3 had so I can finally get my 50 and with Reach being a massive fail and trying to get CoD people to play Halo, it’s almost like 343 has taken the same route with Halo 4, and with this flawed system I have come so close to quitting halo forever and just playing CoD. I keep trying to give it a shot and think “well maybe it’s not so flawed” but i’m always wrong because it is that broken and terrible. Fix the damn system and make everything but FFA based on winning and losing, and make it consistent or your ganna lose the entire community and halo will die…cause even though I love the storyline i’m sure as hell not ganna spend 60 dollars for a game that i’m ganna play to beat the storyline and trade back in.
I agree with you, especially with the individual scoring playlists. There’s no teamwork involved when you’re literally competing against teammates.
exactly!!! I don’t know what 343 was thinking when they made this broken system
CSR’s implementation is definitely broken.
The only thing that matters is winning the team battle and the number of points you get per game.
CSR ranking doesn’t take into account positive K - D values. I am consistently +4 or higher on my Kills versus Deaths (some games as high as +16), but my CSR rank is stuck at between 15 to 16. I play a consistent game - and yet am penalized for it.
The number of points earned does not take into account the number of deaths. I see people with 20 kills - but 35+ deaths going up in rank because they got lots of points. Those 35 deaths lost the game - so it screwed the entire team’s CSR. Why should this be allowed?
So I would like to see CSR taking into account the K:D ratio or K - D value and the easiest way to do this is to adjust the game points.
For each death you should be penalized by -5 points (as a starting point) and it should be applied to the total. So if a guy gets 20 kills and 35 deaths, he would have a net score of 25 (20 * 10 - 35 * 5), not 200.
And since this is CSR, I would like to see something done with “Zombies” - players on a team whom just get killed. We all see this odd team player whom doesn’t move, doesn’t shoot and just stands there to get killed. The game should be able to detect these players (not moving, not aiming, not shooting, not doing anything for say 30 to 60 seconds) and boot their -Yoink- out of the game. Why should they be allowed to drag a team’s CSR down simply be existing?

I kinda agree, I say in every team based game make it about winning only!!! you play as a team, you win as a team, and you rank up as a team, cause if you have the system account for death’s then you will have most players that play the way your suppose to play, but then you will make everyone else start camping in corners with boltshots to get high K-D’s(which no one in Halo should be doing…this is not CoD) if it says team, it should be about winning and winning only.
