Broken circle in next halo?

First post in the forums however would love to hear what you guys think on the topic!

Iv been a fan of halo for years, and am also fascinated by the lore(I’m sure many of you are the same!). The thing is, I just finished re-reading “Broken Circle” and it really got me thinking…what do you guys think the chances are that “The refuge” in the novel will be the halo ring that Cortana finds at the end of halo 5?

Now there is a basis to this theory, it’s not just a mindless assumption! First off, the original shield world was split into different sections and following the monitors return(I can’t for the life of me remember which monitor it was), was reassembled into the shape of a halo ring.

Secondly, this would actually make sense for the continuation of the series, as it would introduce a whole new range of characters already known to the fans of the lore. There are the numerous sangheili on the refuge as well as at least one San Shyuum (the one who was helped to escape when High Charity fell) and though he was the only one we read about in the novel, it’s possible some of his friends/aqantinces survived and were offered salvation in the refuge.

The novel was also written while 343 had taken over the reigns, making me think that it’s possible they used it to set the scene for future games.

Its 3am here and I’m almost certain Iv missed out some important points, but let me know your thoughts please everyone!

Broken Circle is so far the only Post Bungie novel that I like that isn’t the Forerunner Trilogy (which I loved). It was the first recent Halo book where I actually rooted for the main characters to win. It would be amazing to see the Refuge remains, and even a cameo by either Ussa or Bal.

I don’t think we’ll see The Refuge in Halo 6, but maybe we’ll see some characters from this book, Hunters in the Dark and Shadow of Intent

I feel the same, I’d actually say Broken Circle is my favourite of all the books so far, it’s great to see everything from the covenants perspective!

well I hope that if the refuge doesn’t make an appearance, some of the characters will as you said. Such depth in them(arguably more so than the covenant we have been playing against for years).

The thing I loved about it was that the good guys were so likable.

Mken simply wanted to keep his wife, himself, and his coming child safe (which isn’t a spoiler because it is revealed early in the book.) Ussa wanted to stay away from the Covenant and keep his Elites free. Centuries later, Bal’Tol was trying to keep the peace in a falling apart colony and was struggling with simply wanting to go back to Sanghelios, while Zo realizes the Covenant is evil and has to flee for his life, and later reunify the Sangheili on the Refuge with the ones back on their homeworld.

Although it would be cool, I can’t see a cameo by Ussa as being possible since he is long dead by the time the events of the games happen.

I thought Hunters in the Dark was great.
