So here is the story. I’ve been living with error code 0x8e5e0408 for quite some time now and made playing any app or game from the windows store incredibly difficult. In order to work around this for Halo Wars 2 I decided to buy a physical copy only to find that upon the completion of the final disc I’m met with error code 0x8e5e0408 all over again. Three fixes exist for this error code and so far only one worked, albeit on a free app from the store so there was no license issue. I made a separate profile on my computer and installed the app on that profile and it worked fine but now with Halo Wars 2 this isn’t working and to make matters worse I redeemed the code that came with the game on the profile receiving the error code (done so before I realised it was still an issue).
So not only can I not play it on my primary profile I can’t play it on the secondary profile either and simply can’t find a fix for this short of buying the game again on the second profile. I’m not ready to admit defeat enough to completely reset my computer which is the other potential fix for 0x8e5e0408. What can I do?
