Broadsword Origins

Okay, so I just read on Halopedia (I’m a hardcore Halo fan so this might take a while), that the Broadsword fighter used on Midnight, the last level of Halo 4, has been spotted in the DLC level Landfall ( I forgot which map pack).

THE F***.

That level takes place during the Battle of Tribute (which takes place during/after the Fall of Reach. Why the flop is the Broadsword- a fighter which is basically the TIE Fighter of the Halo series and is basically the best UNSC space fighter to date chilling in THAT area?

This is just me ranting, but that kinda sorta ruins the continuity of human advancement for me… Like, if the Broadswords were just sitting around in hangars of colony worlds, than why couldn’t we use those instead of Sabres in Reach? Better yet, why aren’t there Sabres on Landfall? They were apparently the black ops space ships conversed about in Halo Reach that nobody knew existed… So what does that make Broadswords? I mean, I honestly thought that they were the pinnacle of exo-atmospheric combat along with everything else on the Infinity…

So answer this, is there anybody out there who -may- have noticed this little error of continuity and hope that there will be an explanation for it in the future? Or do you just think that it’s maybe part of the Infinity Combat Training Deck’s simulation as a glitch? Or do you feel as though it’s purely an aesthetic choice, given the game’s nature with all things being futuristic?

If you bring logic into a game…it will just completely ruin it.

Dont think about things like this. Just play the game and dont ask questions.

Sounds like the old days when the world was ruled with religion and not science.

STONE HIM!

In all seriousness, there are many more continuity errors in Halo 4 OP. Like the entire Prologue.

Tribute was only 5 years prior to Halo 4, the Broadsword was likely still an experimental aircraft while the Sabre had previous use.

You know… It’s possible to have more than one space fighter in the Halo universe, right? Just because the Broadsword came along (or perhaps the Saber came afterwards, who knows?), it doesn’t mean that they have to immediately destroy every single ship in existence. It’s like saying that the Longsword should have been abolished by Halo 4, since they had the Broadsword in existence.

And who says that the Broadsword is the most advanced fighter known in human history? We haven’t been given any date of when it was put into service, so for all we know, it could be a design that’s several decades old.

I fail to see how there are any continuity errors here, don’t be so quick to judge.
