Bringing GG back.

All right ladies, gentleman, and Spartans all; we have almost endured our way into a new year and to greet that year I have a new project in mind to help bring the sense of community back to Halo. I ask that we bring a hearty “GG” back to the Halo 5 lexicon for a week. For the period of 1 January 2016 to 7 January 2016 at the end of at least one match in every play session I have I intend to take the time to either mic-up and offer, “Good game.” to my opponents or to back out of matchmaking and send a “GG” message to each of them. With or without you it’s a step I intend to take, but I invite the rest of the community to join me in the coming week. Even if it’s just for a week, let’s be what we pretend we used to be. Let’s make the effort.

Feel free to offer questions, comments, and concerns below and as always keep it clean.

This might be a nice way to build up a nice community. I like it.

We’re brining gg back!

Last time i sent a GG message i got a reply telling me to git gud and a scrub haha

But sure, i’ll give it a go!

That’s incredibly rude and not warranted at all. I don’t get some people. Maybe he/she took your comment sarcastically?

When I send them out I tend to get a lot of question marks in response. It was never as constant as we like to pretend, but there was a time when it was part of the Halo culture. It may be a slow process getting this back into the system. I expect confusion and occasionally vitriol, but if it works for this week and we introduce it to Halo 5 proper than the community will be better for it in the long run imo.

Possibly, was a while back but it was a good game that ended 100-98 or something like that and very tense! But oh well, i didn’t let it get to me to be fair! There’s plenty more decent people out there.

when I play against people I know I will often send a gg. also sometimes i will just say it to people whose gamertag/emblem i like
but i will be honest in game if teammates dont have mics i usually talk -Yoink- all game lol

I send “GG” regularly, although I do have concerns about appearing sarcastic.

I also apologize to the top player on my team if I do badly in a game, for some reason they haven’t seemed to be that bothered.

I do it already if the game was a good one  especially when someone gets a kill back on me straight after I got them, worth praising good gaming to keep the friendly competitive spirit alive.

Yeah I send GG regularly, I get messages like:

“Mic!!!” (I don’t use my mic because of, reasons… well mainly my age.)

“You suck you didn’t player the objective skrub this is [insert gamemode] not slayer” (I usually end up having a decent amount of kills and the most amount of objective time of my team)

“'dude stop using automatics you noob they are the worst weapons” (I only use autos in CQC)

I send it if it was a super close match, and usually just to the top performer on the other team.
I’ve only gotten a couple in return.

I hereby give Shermit community member of the week.
I often send gg and advice, mainly to newbies. Especially after an improper beat down some of my fellow mates like to give to fresh fish. I want Halo to stay alive in the long run.

Or the month! This is the second or third positivity movement I’ve seen from Shermit.

That sucks, sorry to hear it. That’s why positivity movements like this are needed though, I think.

I used to do this with a lot of my matches in Halo 4.

I’d send to other players on my team too. I’m sure it helped them feel better about the game especially when the other team was destroying them and T-Bagging them.

Let’s make this community great again! ;D

Seriously though, good thinking comedyshermit!

It’s a shame that people are complete a**holes these days. I intend to remain humble and noble to the end.

Count me in. I have done it several times in H5 but not nearly as many times as my H2 and H3 days.

Let’s keep this about the topic, we can praise me on another day.

Consider this a first step towards becoming the community we like to pretend we used to be. Consider it setting an example.

Good god, getting GG back into a norm? Major throwback to halo 3

Some don’t take gg very well. They get upset about it. I usually send gg if I match a friend or somebody from a spartan company that mine plays with (2pros and Dominated) or if somebody plays well.
