Just listen to this for a moment:
Now remember the past Halo’s, not Halo 4, Halo CE to Reach. Think about what made them amazing, what made many fans love the franchise and become attached to it. We don’t want you to copy existing games like Call of Duty. The previous Halo’s were always doing something new (except Halo Wars).
Halo CE: An Amazing world in which we were given lots of freedom to explore, new dynamic vehicle combat and adventure, a REAL adventure in which the players discovered great amounts.
Halo 2: A vastly improved atmosphere, story, but most of all it redefined multiplayer. It introduced Matchmaking, party chats, clans and reintroduced competitive play in the gaming world.
Halo 3: The ability to create maps and gametypes, resulting in thousands of custom made items by players, which kept many playing for an additional 2 years. In addition, it introduced a theater mode which allowed us to capture our best moments from the campaign and multiplayer. It also contained maps and campaign levels overflowing with secrets and new things to discover about the game. Examples include:
[/li]- Hiding spots on Guardian
- Additional vehicles on the final level
- Skulls, I remember how fun it was discovering and finding them
- Forge glitches, resulting in exciting new maps enjoyed by many
- Secret areas accessible by crouch jumping, grenade jumping and butterfly jumping, even some Brute Shot jumping
- Ways of getting out of certain maps, like in Foundry, Blackout, The Pit etc.
- The amount of variety and all the secrets in Sandbox, one of my favourite maps of all time.
- The dynamic interaction with the maps, such as the gate on High Ground, the lasers on Sandbox, the Elephant tanks on Sandtrap.
I played only Halo 3 since it’s release and up until Reach. It was one of the only games I played. It was that good, and there were always new things to do.
Halo 3: ODST: A new look into the more personal stories in the campaign. While this game didn’t revolutionize the gaming world, it was still an enjoyable expansion, finally letting the players take on another role instead of a powerful entity.
Halo Reach: Introduced a bigger Forge map, more forge options, the very co=operative and fun Invasion gametype. Also included very effective party control and movement across game lobbies.
The main games which really made so much fun and enjoyment possible were the first 3 games. Halo Ce, 2, and 3 all introduced amazing additions and created memories which hopefully will remain with me forever.
If this franchise is really going to keep going, it would be best to look back at what Halo CE - 3 did and try and implement something new and exciting which will change the gaming landscape, not take ideas from other games. I want to play Halo, not a cross between many other games which don’t work together.
Things I would like you definitely keep would be:
[/li]- Interesting, hard to get and fun secrets found across both campaign and multiplayer maps. Examples include skulls, scarab gun, DJ Easter egg, hiding spots on guardian.
- Clan creation, just like in Halo 2.
- A ranking system that actually means something. Halo 3 ranks really meant something and were important, but not so much in other games.
- Dynamic elements on at least some maps, like on Sandtrap or High Ground
- Theater mode for all game modes.
- A very dynamic party system, allowing players to move across lobbies easily.
- A more ‘sandbox’ like campaign, allowing more freedom when exploring the levels. I also found the campaign on Halo 4 especially dull. Nothing interesting ever happened. The quick time events were annoying, and instead of defending the mammoth, which would’ve been AWESOME, instead it just transported us around to parts of the map to complete objectives which was BORING.
- NO PERKS. NO.
Examples of ideas which would greatly benefit the game includes:
[/li]- Custom Game finder.
- More interesting options in forge, like Scarabs, or space battles.
If you guys have more ideas of what could be included in the game, please list below. Thank you for reading.
