Hello everybody, as we have all noticed, the maps in Halo 4 are apparently unsupportive to flying UNSC flying vehicles. Since we don’t have either the Hornet from halo 3 or the falcon from Halo: Reach, why not use the pelican? The coding is already
there
just implement it for multiplayer play. Now I know what every body is going to say, yes I am aware that it would be very unbalanced when it comes to competitive play… but, why not have a map that could support the spawning of one in forge? We have all wanted to fly one for a long time, and we have but with restraints… campaign only. So, please, Vote YES if you support the future forging of pelicans to fly around in and have as much fun as we want. Thank you community and thank you 343 ahead of time just in case you do decide to bring a UNSC flying vehicle into the mix.
(P.S. also, if you would like there to be a map similar to the scale of forge world please thank this post.)
(P.S.S. 343, if you do make a flying UNSC vehicle, Please make it so we can use the
passenger seats in every mode if it has any.)
(P.S.S.S. Keep this form alive so that 343 might take notice & maybe do something about it!)
Since 343i did implement a Pelican in the Campaign, I’m sure that they tried to make it work in Multiplayer.
Just like the Mantis, in an interview, a creator said that when they made the mantis for the campaign, they tried to make it work to be in multiplayer. Which they did manage to do so.
I’m sure 343i tried to get the pelican to work in multiplayer too, but it just didn’t work out.
Can you imagine what it would be like in an objective game if the carrier was able to hop in and then be transported to the score point? I’d go nuts. I wouldn’t want it to hold any more than one pilot. Just an instant triple kill, overkill etc waiting to happen.
The Banshee is holding up for the time being though.
The only way this could work is if they were passenger vehicles only, and if there was a large enough map to use it. At the moment there is no place for them we would need a map as large as Sandtrap from Halo 3 to make it work.
I found strange that there was no Pelican in the Multiplayer. We play with it at Campaign, why not at multiplayer? I fully support a creation of a mode called:
“Get to the Pelican”. Where a group of Spartans must get to the Pelican while it gives air support against a bigger team of spartans.
If not multiplayer I’m betting it’ll show up in Spartan Ops at the least.
Why else do they create a heavily armed Pelican with a nose gun, laser cannon, top turret, two side turrets and just have it for one level where it doesn’t do much but shoot piddly little Phantoms down?
For multiplayer though…none of these maps are large enough, seriously. Alot of them are bareley large enough for Banshees to go flying about, much less a flying bus.

When you think about it, the pelican in halo 4 was already restrictive to a legit pelican. While the spartan laser was cool, it had no undermounted rockets like in previous games, and no back door to open and store allies in.
I would much rather have the hornet make a return over the falcon, but both would have been appreciated, since now we are restricted to the “paper airplane” (really weak banshee).

Because it’s a flying dump truck that serves no purpose on the battlefield.

What coding?
The fact that we’ve seen them, scripted, in Ragnarok during an episode of SOps?

The fact that they’re usable in Campaign is what he means. I wouldn’t want them in MM, though, because that would be way overpowered!
The hawk would be cool to see, no one has ever driven one. It can be the same as the banshee, maybe one on one side, and the other on a different side. I wish there was a map with 4 air vehicles, that would be crazy…
