Yes, I know the Spartan laser was in Reach obviously, but if it is a weapon in Halo 4 then I would like to actually be able to find it on multiple maps. I almost never come across a Spartan laser in matchmaking and would much rather have it implemented a bit more like in Halo3. It would be nice to have its 5 shot capacity from H3 back as well. Thoughts and/or opinions?
meh…not the most important aspect of H4 for sure…
I personally could do w/o it because it’s a bit ‘flaky’ in MP MM just like the fire grenades it renders oddly in games w/low quality connections.
Unless there’s a significant UNSC presence in Halo 4’s setting, the only M6 GGNR laser’s you’ll be seeing are those we took with us aboard the Forward Unto Dawn.
And these babies cost quite a lot…
We already have enough ways to kill vehicles. Having an insta-death laser is just overkill.
Down with the Spartan Laser!

MP is not cannon. Which means that the spartan laser can easily be in the game.
I agree the spartan laser needs to go away.

I disagree. We need diversity. And besides its supposed to be OP. It’s a LASER designed to destroy vehicles instantaneously.
Keep it with 4 shots as it is now, but have it appear more! It was OP in Halo 3 because it was so abundant and had 5 shots… however it’s horrible in Reach because it doesn’t even SHOW UP even though they reduced the damage and shots…

The truth is, we don’t need a laser in Reach because we have the DMR, which is in fact a laser is in disguise.
However, in H4 (please please please please please please…) 343i will fix the vehicle balance to something actually fun (like H3) and then the laser can be re-implemented.
And when I say re-implemented, I don’t mean this 2-shot mongoose kill crap, I mean 1-shot tank kill. It only has four shots now, and those can fly by pretty quickly, meaning you missed (lag?) or the dang warthog didn’t die in 3 shots…
Honestly I’d love it if they restored the spartan laser to its former glory. In my opinion Halo 3 had the best vehicle combat out of any of the games. All vehicles killed rather quickly, but the laser balanced them out. Besides the laser was only good at long range and against vehicles. The long charge and cooldown made it bad for close to mid range so it’s not like it was overpowered.
Yah I love the splazer and would like to see it more on vehicle maps

No. It ruined vehicle gameplay completely.

It only ruined vehicle game play if you were the idiots driving about in the warthog straight away without any regard for the laser.
Wait for it to be used up, or even better have your team control it and then get in the vehicles. It’s another aspect of the game to control and adds a more tactical side to vehicles.
Also it was hilarious and fun to use. I loved it when someone was BRing/ARing me, and the laser was charging up and it could go either way who’d get the kill, same with a charging Ghost, could the laser charge up before the ghost splattered me lol.
The last bit I meant for lolz in social, wouldn’t do that in the ranked playlists.
The laser is my second favorite weapon in the whole series (next to the grenade launcher). It ought to be in Halo 4.
we need it back hurp durp

Down with vehicle-wrecking loadout weapons.
In halo 3, the splazer did its vehicle-killing job. In halo 4, I can spawn with a dmr, pp, and stickies to do the job for me. Its not the splazer’s fault as much as it is loadouts, or rather what is offered in loadouts.
