First let me start by saying, I know my idea for a single mission is a long shot and will never happen but if they would give us that one mission where UNSC sends fireteam osiris to investigate a distress call from a top secret science outpost (scientists there are studying covenant / promethean technology along with the flood virus OR (and I like this idea better) its strictly some sort of unsc CDC lab focused on developing a way to eradicate the flood virus and also how to cure the infected) anyway, while one of the scientists is working on the flood virus he accidentally infects himself and causes an outbreak that spreads throughout the lab and fireteam osiris while at first investigating the distress call stumbles onto the flood outbreak and their mission becomes a search and rescue and maybe retrieve some vital sample that is a breakthrough on a flood virus cure / eradication of the virus and then they must get to the outpost reactor to overload and destroy the base and all flood inside. With this update a new warzone firefight map(s) could be released and the flood could be added to the list of enemies we get to fight in warzone. Now i know adding even a single mission is a long shot but adding the flood to warzone i think is very reasonable and would definitely freshen things up a bit. Not to mention if they add flood to warzone there would be new cool flood elite / legendary / mythic bosses. Any ideas on what some cool flood bosses could be?
Now onto the topic of bringing Brutes back into the game with no allegiance to the covenant, and that unsc CDC science outpost mission i talked about (i know even a single mission will never happen but a guy can still dream) maybe it came under attack by a group of rogue brutes and in all the chaos of them assaulting the outpost the flood virus got released infecting a brute, and we all know what happens when a brute turns into one of the flood, they literally go ape -Yoink-, so the flood virus would spread even more violently. This would also open up warzone to have brutes enemies and a chance to add more vehicles to our req collections such as the brute chopper and brute prowler and maybe even the elite version of the prowler which is the spectre.
So to sum it all up in a list that is prioritized -
- add the flood and brutes into warzone, if we only get one i choose the flood, I feel this would not consume too much time and money to add in a single enemy
- add one or two new warzone maps with a flood and brute theme, once again i vote flood if we only get one
- add the brute chopper, the brute prowler and it’s elite counterpart the spectre (the brute vehicles are contingent on brutes being added to warzone)
- add a single mission to introduce the return of the flood and possibly brutes (once again i know i’m dreaming but it would so awesome if 343 did it)
- PLEASE DON’T RIP ME TO SHREDS OVER THIS, i know the halo community loves to shoot ideas down and crush dreams, there is no need to post about how none of what i suggested will ever come and that the odds of any of it being added are slim (if i was ranked high enough to have a signature it would be “Never tell me the odds”
My hopes are that people will support this idea and in time we can at the very least get the flood and or brutes added into warzone firefight / warzone.
6.Don’t forget to post ideas about what some elite / legendary / mythic flood bosses could be!!!
It would be ok, there could be one map with Brutes and Elites. Then another map with flood. I would like it.
Brute and Elite map: Tarturus as a boss, with brutes that have Grinders, and fighting Elites. With this map, they could add Atriox and the Banished(with Banished vehicles).
Flood map: Gravemind as boss, this map would have Elites, Brutes and Marines, so the flood can infect them, and then they can infect Spartans for even more difficulty.
yea i was thinking on a flood map when you hear ( mythic boss incoming ) and there’s that 30 second timer you have covenant dropping in or brutes or marines / AI spartans or a combination of the 3 and when they land before they can even fire the gravemind sprouts up out from the ground while releasing dozens of the infectious forms almost instantly converting everything into to flood and the carries start coming to and maybe to make it harder if you or your teamates die they get reanimated as flood and get to use what ever weapon who had at the ready at time of death, so dont die with those ultra rare legendary weapons out!! As for legendary bosses the juggernaut from halo 3 or the pure tank form ( its likes twice the size of an infected brute ) and for the elite bosses it could be an infected form of the elite generals or serpent hunters.

I’m imagining trying to fend off combat forms while trying to destroy the gravemind, which would work like a core. This would be great for WZFF, but I don’t see how it could be implemented into normal WZ.
Lore-wise, the Flood and Brutes would work, since it’s a simulation, and Spartans should train for every contingency possible.
Gameplay-wise, there’s no reason they shouldn’t work.
I agree with your stance on this.
Maybe they’ll release a Banish-themed update to coincide with Halo Wars 2.
That would be awesome.

> Maybe they’ll release a Banish-themed update to coincide with Halo Wars 2.
That’s in fact extremely likely as they’ve already baked HW2 into Waypoint’s features. Banish-themed Wraiths and other existing vehicles would be well within the scope of past added Reqs. Hopes are high!
Adding the flood would more than likely push the game to an Mature rating and the game currently sits at a Teen rating. Any actual chances of the flood in this game are near nonexistent.
I was just saying that bringing the Flood into Firefight would be great! People love Infection so much, why not have a Flood Firefight option in the mix? It’d be awesome! A dark, gritty Spartans vs Flood Infested Everything!
I think it would be great for them to implement the flood back in as a firefight kind of mode. I’d say they should bring brutes into normal WZ with the brute choppers and use them instead of the ghost patrols.
So lets spread the word, lets get 343s attention on this matter, it wont consume a whole lot of time to render flood from halo 3 and 4 and brutes from halo 2 and 3 especially since Halo MCC already has remastered versions of flood and brutes already on xbox one. Lets make this happen guys, its not a whole lot to ask for…1 or 2 warzone maps and flood and brutes in warzone. If we bring enough attention maybe we can get a food / brute warzone update by christmas or late janurary. Spread the word so every halo 5 player who enjoys warzone is politely asking yet at the same time demanding we get a flood / brute warzone update!!!

Isn’t this pretty much a copy of one of the short stories from the Halo Evolutions novel? Except it was a group of ODST.
This late into post game, there’s next to no chance they’re going to add non-existing enemies into the coding JUST for firefight…
There’s always Halo 6 though
The flood is so overrated and boring to fight and I really hope they don’t come back… Brutes would be awesome though
-Yoink!- we want BRUTES & FLOOD, its the least 343i can do after SCREWING the community with the INTENTIONALLY delayed FILE-SHARE capability.
Selling req packs instead of doing right by the community, everybody talks.
So lets suggest this (Part 1)
1.Introduce new class of enemies under two factions: Banished Brutes or Covenant Brutes
2. Introduce next iteration of Player-Controllable Brute Vehicles: Brute Chopper and Brute Prowler
3. Introduce New Brute Bosses: Chieftain, Mythic Tartarus, Brute Tank (Blisterback from HW2)
4. Introduce classic Brute Weapons: Brute Mauler, Brute Spiker, Firebomb and Spike Grenades, and Brute Shot
5. Introduce New Brute Weapons: Brute Shotgun and Rocket Launcher
6. Introduce new WZFF/WZ map: Banished theme, or ravaged UNSC/Elite Base
(Part 2)
- Introduce new WZ/FF boss: Covenant Scarab
- Introduce new iterations of previous Covenant vehicles to use: Spectre (Halo 2 Anniversary), Revenant (Reach)
- Introduce new iterations of previous UNSC vehicles: Hornet (Halo 3) and Falcon (Reach)
- Introduce new Covenant weapons: Plasma Shotgun and Heavy Needle Launcher
We can call the update in part one Monkey Business and part two War Machine of the Covenant.
Maybe the flood stuff can take place on Delta Halo or even High Charity?

You think the flood are boring but not the brutes? The bullet sponge clones of Elites?

its never too late, we have over 2 years before halo 6 and because of MCC they could easily take all the coding from the first 4 halo’s and just render the flood and brutes into halo 5 with some minor tweaking…its not like they would have to start from scratch

That’s not really how coding works. I mean, yes it can be done but it’s not as simple as copy and paste, their entire behaviors would need to be completely rewritten, new animations made to compensate Halo 5’s engine, new textures and models (do you really want a low res HCE form in a Xbox one game? It worked for the magnum but that was intentional) and this would need to be redone several times for several different models. Making new weapons is a lot easier than making or remaking new enemies which is why so far we’ve only gotten one new enemy (the grunt goblin) and several recolors
also, within the next two years we have Halo wars 2 which theyre putting development tim into and of course a rumored Halo 3 Anniversary. Next year is shaping to be another big year for Halo
