Bring Lockout Back!

For all of you Halo 2 era players still out there, Lockout set the standard for map design, at least for me. It is hands down the greatest map in existence, followed by some close others (mostly halo 2, but some in Halo 3 as well.) I really want to see some remakes, thrown into a classic slayer playlist, hell even in Team Slayer Pro. I would love to see Lockout remade in Halo 4, by 343. Some other good candidates are Turf, Terminal, Containment, The Pit, Zanzibar, and Narrows. I’m just saying that, even with AA’s, not all maps will be broken. Especially the Halo 3 era maps. That being said, it would have to be done by 343. I understand that plenty of people put in hard work on Forge and that’s awesome, but more than likely, those maps won’t show up outside of custom games… that is unless 343 remakes them and throws them into matchmaking.

We can’t, it won’t work with Halo 4. You can thank default sprint for that.

Why do you think every small competitive map has elongated corridors and playspaces? To prevent double melees.

Check my file share for a 1/1 scale remake of lockout with all of the jumps.

Bring back Turf I say.

Lockout would be nice.

Lockout gimped reach multiplayer, why would you want to gimp H4 anymore then it already is?

I Loved Turf!

The most overrated map which is in fact pretty bad? No thanks…

its actually because the smallest default structures are actually that wide.

I’m serious…

No more remakes. Only new maps from now on, End of story.

Lol. I love how we also cannot disable default sprint, meaning even if someone were to create Lockout, sprint would ruin map flow.

Seems like we have to put up with 343’s terrible maps then. Adrit and Haven are the only good maps on this game. Who’s idea was it to put Complex (Such a ridiculously DMR heavy map) into the Slayer Pro map pool? Complex is more than capable of supporting BTB.

I agree with you about complex. They should swap Exile out with Complex and throw it into BTB. Just get rid of the scorpion and the gauss hog, add a sniper in the middle (point B for you dominion players) and you got yourself a playable map with a focus, get to the middle for the power weapons.

I just want Guardian and Lockout.

This is a completely untrue statement, just yesteday i watched a ODDBALL game on the mlg website with pro players playing (with sprint on) on a remake of lockout.
They had zero issues with how it functioned and had very few complaints if any with how halo 4 effected gameplay and flow of the map. If I hadn’t just cleared my cookies and browsing history this morning I would link you to the video.

The remake they were playing on is 3.5 times the size of the original lockout and missing most of the jumps. It was more like blackout than lockout.

Indeed it would. My favorite map of all time.

But, unfortunately, this thread explains why in many ways, most of the classic maps will not work with the current state of Halo 4’s sandbox. :frowning:

To compensate for sprint.

If speaking in ignorance is all you know, I advise you for your health’s sake, not to speak.

If you wasnt bad you’d know they already have an offical remake of it for MLG.
