Bring Halo 2 Back? It's all up to you.

From what I have heard from many gamers is that they want Halo 2 servers back online so they can keep playing. It’s impossible to play this game online. (Except for Halo 2 PC, of course)Ive been reading many forums and gamers do want Halo 2 back. But here’s the problem. They won’t do anything about it. They can cry and moan if they want but it’s not going to get the servers back up. So i’m writting this forum topic so the gamers of the Halo Universe can get together and decide how they would like to get their beloved multiplayer expierence back. There is also a Facebook page dedicated to it. (It’s not mine and it is rarely updated.) So why not ask 343 to turn on the servers at least one more time. Even for one day, so we can download the maps that we already paid for so they aren’t lost forever. A better idea is to ask 343 to just put Halo 2 on current Xbox 360 servers. What harm could it do? It’s just a game that everyone wants to play. I understand the game is outdated. But it’s not too outdated if people are posting topics about it! So do what you would like. Post on this forum. Create a Facebook page and gain support. Create a peition. Contact 343 about the topic. Or you could just blow off everything ive said and continue to play Reach. For the people who care about the future of Halo 2, this topic is for you.

I’m sorry to say but I don’t think the old servers even exist anymore. When the companies I work for change/upgrade to new servers, the old ones are stripped or recycled. It’s likely, since the wiring is in conduits in the walls, that the old wiring has been replaced. If they moved the new servers to another room or another building, they would have to run all the wiring to the new locations. This is miles of wiring.

They, imo, simply cannot turn the old servers back on. That’s why we are keeping up the pressure to get H2 remastered and working on Live.

343i could not simply turn on the old Xbox Live servers not the Halo 2 servers, because it is out of the power.

why not just make an anniversary edition like CE? That would be amazing

They need time to actually do it, the huge thing about Halo 2 was its multiplayer, not the single player.

Considering Certain Affinity is fully focused on the Forge aspect for Halo 4, and likely future DLC forge maps, I wouldn’t expect a ‘HD’ version of Halo 2 for a while.

It would be released on Nov. 9th 2014, IF it was going to be an Anniversary Remake.

You can still play the Xbox Halo 2 multiplayer online using a PC program called XboxConnect. Its not an official Microsoft program, but it allows original Xbox users to still play games such as Halo 2 online using their original Xbox consoles by connecting them to each other rather than the XBL service.

XBC, Kai and PC are garbage compared to Live. We all know about those programs, nothing new.

Not to mention the terrible lag in comparison to live due to players living very far away from one another, and the fact that system link tunneling also just being inefficient.

PUT HALO 2 BACK ONLINE, IT’S WAY BETTER THAN 3, REACH, AND 4. WE WANT XBOX LIVE BACK ON HALO 2!!!

Buy a copy of Halo 2 Vista. It’s still on sale in the UK on Amazon. Install, patch, play.
