I would very much like to see more eSports integration with the next Halo. Maybe hosting weekly/monthly tournaments, with some small to decent prizes? In-game livestreaming is a must, in addition to something similar to Black Ops 2’s “CoDcasting”, which I found to be a very good feature. Also host larger tournaments, similar to the Halo 4 Global Championship, except have different tourneys for each game mode, depending on how many people play each mode.
Also, global leaderboards would be a great addition, as well as leaderboards for friends, and geographic location.
In addition, perhaps having competitions for Forge and Custom Games would be nice? Competitions for Forge could be for things such as seeing who can build the most balanced map over a week, who can build a map of pre-defined size within a set time limit, etc., and Custom Game competitions including things such as seeing who can design most exotic mode they can think of, with the winner’s mode being incorporated into the playlists for a month, or seeing who can build a game variant in the shortest amount of time, with the modes being in their own playlist, with players voting on which mode they like the most, and the winner’s mode is made an official game mode in a title update.
FPS is not that big of an esport now. It used to be but the viewership moved to new genres. Mobas games like League of Legends and Dota 2 are the kings of the sport along with Starcraft 2. Halo needs more esports features we can all agree on that, but that alone will not propel Halo in the esport market. That is unless 343 and Microsoft throw vast sums of money to attract players ala what Riot did with League of Legends. Halo 5 may change that but the features need be there but that does not mean it will become a big esport.

Yes, i think Halo 5 should have a lot of e-sport attention, but i think it should Be a yearly thing, like the Halo 4 GC’s or the MLG Pro Circuit, not weekly. Many video Game Legends think That esports are going to Be the bomb in 3-4 years, and thats what everyones going to Be doing, So i think esports are good on a competitive and entertaining level. Just look at how many people watched the Halo 4 GC’s, it Is supposed That it was a lot, and it brought a temporary population boost to Halo 4. Even the hashtag “Halo4GC” was trending on Twitter That night. Esports and compétitive Halo are very important factors in the success of Halo 5, and they should host tournaments and stuff again, So That Halo 5 May Be successful. The first thing 343i should do for That matter Is try their best for Halo 5 to mâle it back ont MLG’s Pro Circuit. But also, Halo 5 also needs a Spectator mode and clan support if it wants to stay on the compétitive aide.
