Bring back what made Halo special!

I’m remembering a time when the simpler mechanics of the game actually allowed for a more dynamic, competitive, and strategic atmosphere. One where players had to be deliberate about the choices they made in the game because the stakes were actually high. One could not simply sprint away from a dicey situation, but instead needed to use cunning tactics and actual skill. The pace was slower and more methodical. Teams needed to be cohesive in order to win, and the wins were exponentially more rewarding because of the challenge. Halo 5 abandoned the core elements that made Halo special. Let’s bring them back! I have been disappointed time and again by 343. They have yet to recreate the magic of the original Halo. Forget sprint and clamber. Forget loot boxes. Forget Loadouts. I want to earn my rank with skill. Please bring this back. I want to unlock armor with skill! We need this. Halo Infinite needs to resurrect the elements of Halo that are at the very heart and soul of the original game. If not, I’m afraid infinite will be the last nail in the coffin.

I disagree.

I’ve been playing since CE as well, and I thoroughly enjoyed having clamber, sprint, and thrust. They felt like natural evolutions of the gameplay. I could do without the loadouts and microtransactions though. I prefer everyone starting out on a level playing field. I also don’t like how armor was unlocked in Halo 5 (completely random). I like knowing what I need to do to unlock an armor (be it an achievement or skill level) and get after it.
