Bring back trick jumping in Halo 4!
That would mean no jetpacks in MP
Totally agree, I think the most important factors for this would be:
- Regaining the freedom of movement experienced in previous titles (Jump height and base player speed)
- Losing the fall damage drop stun (Where when you jump from a certain height and land your player loses momentum)
- Having the maps created with skill jumps or trick jumps in mind
- Losing current jetpack
you can keep jetpack because it wont effect your jumping skills other than not having to for the less skilled players
It’s not completely dead in Reach…I mean, sure it sucks a whole lot more, but it’s not gone.
This is one that a friend and I did. (kinda crappy)
> 3. Having the maps created with skill jumps or trick jumps in mind
This including if the movement was designed jumping in mind (allowing grenade jumps, slide jumps and ghost edging). In addition to allowing trick jumping which is a big part of Halo, it would drastically increase skill gap.
I could only wantch the first one, it was pretty nice actually. But trick jumps in Halo Reach are rare, some are blocked by kill boundaries, some are just blatantly blocked. Halo Reach trick jumping sucks, alot.
We want skillful jumps than can be done in matchmaking.
> Can I get a witness?
The first two videos were from the time of beta, the evade jump has since been removed. Besides those jumps the videos included nothing impressive, jumps that I could do my eyes closed. The third video was by far the best of the four, and it was on a custom made map purposefully made for trick jumping, and only included Concussion rifle jumps. For short, these three videos were boring and included no unique techniques or jumps. The fourth video was downright pathetic, it icluded a technique that has no real purpose, it didn’ even look nice, clumsy at best.
None of those videos can even be compared to any Halo 3 trick jumping video. When I see a new Halo 3 trick jumping videos, I always see new techniques in every video, none of the jumps never look boring and most of them are something that woud take a while from me to complete. As I said previously, trick jumping can be done in Halo Reach, but it’s boring and requires low amounts of skill. All the possible tricks are also either default jumps, possibly Concussion Rifle jumps or combinations of those, the lack of unque techniques makes all jumps look the same. For example, ghost edging and slide jumping are just few techniques that made Halo 3 trick jumps unique and fun to look at.
