Bring back the veto system

Ive been playing all day trying to get my rank up in some arena playlists and i was just playing SWAT and out of the 15 games I’ve played 13 were swatnums… i LOVE swat… but i can’t stand swatnums. i don’t see what is so hard about having a game engine that randomizes game types or at least lets the players in the lobby vote. Any else feel the same way? thoughts? even different opinions? i just want to know what you guys think.

The thing with a voting system is that we are going to play the same map over and over again. I do agree there is to much swatnum in swat, but imo the voting system would make the game worse

I don’t want the voting back, felt like I played the same map and gametype every game. If anything it should be the veto system from Halo 3.

No voting, it marginalizes players who get tired of the popular maps, but bring back the veto. The game types are currently random, and 13/ 15 is still random, as 15 isn’t a large enough sample size. Veto is still random while allowing players to choose against game types they don’t like, without letting one map (Looking at you ragnarok Halo 4) dominate the playlist.

a veto system is a fantastic idea just so we don’t play the same game type or maps over and over. I’m just looking for a solution to that

Veto system sure.

But voting? Never. Never ever ever again.

Voting makes it really repetitive because people always end up picking the same make/game-type over and over again. The veto system from Halo 3 would be perfect though. If gives players choice while keeping the variety high.

i agree with the veto system! we should make some noise about it hopefully 343 will see it

The Halo 3 veto system was excellent. If we could have one like that then I’d support it 100%

The voting system is terrible because groups of four pretty much decide what map to play. The veto on the other hand is great however still suffers from parties just not as much.

I veto bringing back the veto system… wait, does that mean I can’t veto in the first place because it was removed, but then if it was removed we’d want it back. But then some idiot like me would veto the veto system and it would be gone again…

Agree with most here. Veto over vote but either are better than nothing. Particularly in swat where swatnums is rampant.

I’m in favor of this as long as once vetoed the cycle ends there and people have to settle for that choice. Or If there’s an option of what to play before the game loads it chooses randomly if the vote is tied.

Either voting or vetoing needs to be implemented

The map voting/veto system was terrible- it just results in people playing the same modes and maps over and over. See Halo Master Chief Collection for evidence: that game has over 100 multiplayer maps but if you play online for hours you always play a tiny rotation of like 6 maps. Certain maps always get picked if they are a votable option between games.

I would prefer the Veto-System from Halo 3, please add this 343!

People who started with Reach: Stop equating the voting system from Reach going forward with Halo 3’s veto system. It’s not even comparable.

The veto system, especially a refined version, is totally inconsistent with the flaws people are mentioning. Voting is bad, yes, because variety becomes a rarity. A system, though, that says, “Hey, we collectively don’t want to play this map/gametype combo. Select another one randomly” will not promote playing the same map over and over again.

This didn’t even happen in Halo 3 - save for the gametype accompanying the map - and I’m sure they could come up with a better, refined version anyway. Though, that may be giving too much credit to 343.

Either way, voting represents the most player control with the least forced variety, straight rotation as we have it now represents the least player control with the most forced variety (which is arguable because people still end up playing the same map 5 times in a row), and then you have a refined veto system, which represents some player control and some forced variety. It is a perfect compromise, especially if you were to make the back-up map/gametype random. It is the rotation system that we have now, but with a pinch of player regulation.

Just thought I’d swing by and say that WE NEED A VOTE/VETO SYSTEM!

Especially now that we have Action Sack!

I’m ok with a veto system like Halo 3 had… But a vote system, no x1000. I hate the voting system
